Alexandra Kay is set to release her debut album, All I’ve Ever Known on October 26.
The 11-track album takes listeners through a decade of life experiences and personal hardships. It signifies who Kay is, what she’s been through, and where she’s headed.
“All I’ve Ever Known is honesty. It’s a peek behind the curtain to an old kitchen window in a town of 4,000 people where I lived the past 10 years of my life. It is who I was, who I’ve become and everything in between,” Kay shared in a release. “This album is the most raw, vulnerable, and wide open I have ever been when creating music, which can be terrifying and healing at the same time. I am so excited to connect with so many beautiful humans and watch the healing power of music as we tour this album in the fall.”
The independent artist wrote on all of the tracks herself. The project was produced by Andrew Capra, Andrew Baylis and Jason Massey.
Ahead of the album’s release, the rising star shared the new track, “Easy” to streaming platforms. This heartbreak anthem tells the story of a boy who walked out on his relationship leaving the girl to pick up the pieces of her shattered heart.
“It ain’t easy / Waking up at night / Reaching to your side and it’s empty / It ain’t easy / Looking people in the eye / Swearing I’m alright when I’m falling to pieces / Easy letting go when I’ve never been alone / And I don’t know who I am without you / Now I’m crying on the bathroom floor / And we ain’t got it easy anymore,” Kay sings on the chorus.
Coinciding with the release of the single came the premiere of the official “Easy” music video. The music video transports viewers back in time to the 1980s as they watch Kay travel to retro places like the bowling alley and the record store.
Following the launch of “All I’ve Ever Known,” Alexandra Kay will hit the road for her tour of the same name. The 34-date trek will begin on November 1 in Louisville, Kentucky and it will go through December 22 ending In Nashville, Tennessee. Jordana Bryant and Haley Mae Campbell will provide support on certain dates.
