Jameson Rodgers recently gave fans a taste of new music with the release of three new tracks: “Whiskey Train,” “If I Was Doing Any Better,” and “Bury Me With My Guitar.”

The centerpiece of the three-song release is “Whiskey Train,” an upbeat, energetic, party song. It depicts a man kicking off the weekend drinking Tennessee whiskey at the bar. As he hears the train whistle, he’s aware that it’s time to hop onto the imaginative “Whiskey Train.”

Produced by David Garcia, the song accentuates Rodgers’ signature themes of heartbreak, growing up, and that Friday-after-five feeling.

“That whiskey train, Tennessee Whiskey train / No going back, I’m on the tracks, just shooting Jack, there ain’t no stopping that / Whiskey train, ain’t feeling no pain / I’m good timing, all damn nighting, I ain’t driving, I’m just riding / On that whiskey train / Yeah, on that whiskey train, Rodgers sings on the chorus.

Ahead of the “Whiskey Train” release, Rodgers took to Instagram to promote the song. He posted several videos including one that featured fellow country stars Mitchell Tenpenny, Travis Denning, Chris Lane, Dylan Marlowe, Kameron Marlowe, John Morgan, Dustin Lynch, Lainey Wilson, Matt Stell, and Jordan Davis.

In the video, “Whiskey Train” is playing in the background while each artist takes a turn taking a shot and then passing it on to the next.

Rodgers captioned the video by asking “Who wants to get on the Whiskey Train with us?”

Along with the Instagram videos, Rodgers put out an official studio video for “Whiskey Train.” As the video rolls through clips from studio sessions, fans see Rodgers with his headphones on recording the song.

Chris Farren and Jake Mitchell co-produced the additional new tracks, “If I Was Doing Any Better” and “Bury Me With My Guitar.”

“If I was Doing Better” is a heartbreak anthem that tells the story of a man washing the pain away with a bottle of Jack. He wants his girl to come back to him, but he isn’t going to wait around and miss the good moments of his life.

“Gonna follow these ruts till I see them trucks / Circled up all waiting on me / Gonna spend all night sitting tailgate high / What else does an ole boy need / Got the Kentwoods up, got some ice in my cup / And a good buzz coming on fast / With some damn good weather and a bottle of Jack / If I was doing any better you’d be on your way back, Rodgers sings.

Meanwhile, “Bury Me With My Guitar” is a tribute to Rodgers’ first love. It is a tender, soul-stirring song that illustrates the connection Rodgers has with his guitar.

He sings, “So one day when they lay me down / Put me in my hometown ground / With my first love still in my arms / Bury me with my guitar.”

Jameson Rodgers is taking his new music on the road with his headlining Whiskey Train Tour. The 5-date trek features Lauren Watkins, Greylan James, and John Morgan on select dates.

“This one is called the ‘Whiskey Train Tour’ because the tone of that song matches the tone of the shows. I’ve got some of my favorite artists/friends opening up these shows with Lauren, Greylan and John. It’s going to be a blast and I can’t wait to see everyone there,” Rodgers shared.

Additionally, Jameson Rodgers will join Jordan Davis, Old Dominion, and Darius Rucker as support on select dates throughout the fall.
