Fans have been itching to get new music from Thompson, who is constantly teasing unreleased tunes across his social media platforms. Most recently, he dropped a music video for his fan-favorite, “She Gets It From Me,” which has already scored approval among his listeners.

The new clip brings the track to life as it showcases a couple filled with joy and admiration for each other while performance clips of Thompson are interwoven throughout the video.

“That stay out too late/ And a taste for good whiskey/ Laugh when it hurts/ And bad words when she’s tipsy/ The hand she can hold and a life full of memories/ ‘Cause every wish, every kiss/ Yeah, she gets it from me/ Day or night, rain or shine/ Yeah, she gets it from me,” Thompson sings in the chorus as snippets of the couple embracing the small moments in life flash across the screen.

Co-written by Michael Tyler, Chris LaCorte, and Ross Ellis and produced by Jimmy Robbins, “She Gets It From Me” appears on the Kentucky native’s debut EP, Middle Of God Knows Where. Released on Friday, June 9, the six-track project showcases a journey of tremendous grit and determination that began with his time on Idol.

Before this collection, Thompson had only released outside cuts, meaning this is the first time he’s getting to showcase songs that he had a hand in writing. The title track is one of these original works, along with the brand-new, “Us No More.”

“I’m super pumped about it because, I mean, soon after the show, we had to get some songs together pretty quick. As far as songwriting goes, it was just me in my bathroom, but I’d never really shown anybody in my music,” he told Country Now. “So on the show, I had some songs pitched to me and we went ahead and got some of them cut soon after I got off the show just to kind of have some in the process already,” he explained before adding, “During that time, I was kind of writing stuff also. I’m super stoked to see how people feel about the songs I’ve got to write on.”

Thompson went on to explain that both of these co-writes were born from a time in his life that involved heartbreak and a need for an outlet to share his emotions and experiences. As a result, he turned to songwriting.

“It was definitely something I couldn’t get outta my head and those were the kind of songs that were just pouring outta me, I guess.”

He also expressed hopefulness for the future when it comes to writing his own music. As the “One Day Tonight” singer continues to hone in on his songwriting skills, he predicts that these songs are just the start of all the stories he will pen in the future.

“I’m still so new to so many things. I had no idea, you know, you go into a room with three, two or three people and you write a song. I had no idea that’s how that works. So I thought that was really kind of neat. But yeah, it’s really cool. It’s a good way to express your emotions and get things out. It’s a cool way to meet new people also and make great friends a long way.”

The rest of the collection includes previous releases such as “One Day Tonight,” “Make You Rich,” and his cover of Rhianna’s “Stay,” as well as the long-awaited, “She Gets It From Me.”

Last fall, the country singer got to showcase his talent on his co-headlining tour with American Idol runner-up, HunterGirl.

Next up, Noah Thompson is set to perform at the Braxton County Fair on August 5 before making his way to shows in West Branch, MI and Delphi, IN.

Then on September 9, Thompson will return to his hometown of Louisa, Kentucky for the Lawrence County Septemberfest. A complete list of Thompson’s upcoming tour dates can be found HERE.
