American Idol made its way to Ko Olina, Hawaii’s Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa on Sunday (March 29) where the Top 40 contestants took the stage with hopes to advance to the next round.

With his eyes set on earning a spot in the Top 20, DeWayne Crocker Jr. put his own reggae spin on the record-breaking, GRAMMY-award winning “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus.

The performance had all of the judges off their feet dancing along and ended with a massive standing ovation.

“That was one of our favorite performances,” Katy Perry complimented Crocker.

“Congrats,” added Luke Bryan.

DeWayne Crocker Jr.’s reggae-infused “Old Town Road” impressed the judges enough to advance him to the Top 20.

American Idol returns on Sunday (April 5) at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
