As fans continue to count down to the Spring premiere of American Idol, judges Luke BryanLionel Richie and Katy Perry, along with longtime host, Ryan Seacrest, continue to film for the upcoming season. 

The American Idol cast celebrated the upcoming season with a three-tier Idol-themed cake, complete with music notes, singing silhouettes and a life-size microphone. 

“We’re filming on the Sunset Strip this week! 🤘Season 20’s gonna rock, no matter how you slice it,” the show shared on Instagram.

Bryan, who was just announced as the host of the upcoming 2021 CMA Awards, also shared a photo from the set on the social media platform. 

Looking as happy as ever alongside his Idol cohorts, Bryan wrote, “Things are looking UP for our 20th year of @americanidol. Who’s ready?”

Filming for the milestone Season 20 began in early October

“We can’t wait to put together this historic 20th season of the show and our 5th season as judges,” Bryan shared at the time. 

The news comes after ABC confirmed that Bryan, Richie, Perry and Seacrest would be returning to the show with an announcement on Good Morning America in early August. 

“Luke, Katy, Lionel and Ryan are music and industry icons that have become synonymous with ‘Idol’ on ABC,” said Rob Mills, executive vice president, Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment, Walt Disney Television. “Their star power is unmatched, and their support is a gift to our contestants that have deeply benefited from their wisdom over the past four seasons—and they’re ready to do it again.
