Morgan Wallen Biography

Morgan Cole Wallen is the son of Lesli Wallen and Tommy Wallen. He was raised in the small town of Sneedville, Tennessee. Throughout his childhood, Wallen took piano and violin lessons and enjoyed playing music and singing in church. He played baseball while in school, but an injury forced him to give up his baseball dreams. His mom signed him up for The Voice where he was a contestant on Team Usher and Team Levine. Following his time on the NBC competition show, Morgan Wallen signed with Panacea records for a short time. He later signed with Big Loud Records and released his official debut single, “The Way I Talk.” His debut album, If I know Me, was officially released on April 27, 2018. The project spawned country music hits like “Whiskey Glasses” and “Up Down.”

Dangerous

In 2021, Morgan Wallen’s career rose to new heights with the release of his sophomore project, Dangerous: The Double Album. With a release date of January 8, 2021, Dangerous has gone on to spend record-breaking 100-plus weeks in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 Chart. The critically acclaimed follow-up project also dominated the top country albums chart. Songs on the double album have earned several multi-platinum certifications. In fact, his second album includes the most certified titles of any studio album in RIAA history with eight multi-platinum singles, six platinum singles, and 14 gold singles. Morgan Wallen teamed up with producer Joey Moi on both projects, which raked in impressive album sales.

Dangerous Tour

Morgan Wallen launched his wildly successful The Dangerous Tour with two nights at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The Dangerous Tour featured special guests such as Larry Fleet, HARDY, ERNEST, Ian Munsick, and more. The record-breaking The Dangerous Tour made stops in various cities around the U.S., including three nights at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, throughout 2022.

Morgan Wallen sings a lot about his love for East Tennessee. The deeply personal new song, “Thought You Should Know,” serves as a heartfelt tribute to his mom. Fans can’t get enough of Morgan Wallen’s music or his music videos.

Third Album

“This record represents the last few years of my life, the highs and the lows,” Wallen said in a press release. “It also brings together the musical influences that have shaped me as an artist – country, alternative and hip-hop.”

Wallen’s sister, Ashlyne, will provide background vocals on the song, “Outlook.”

“I grew up in church singing three-part harmonies with my two sisters. That’s how I learned to sing, so this was a full-circle moment for Ashlyne and me,” Wallen shared.

Morgan Wallen gives back through his More Than My Hometown Foundation, which was established by the artist in 2021.
