Ashley Cooke has been teasing fans that something big is on the way and the news is finally here. She has announced that her self-titled sophomore album is dropping August 14 via Big Loud Records.

The album was brought to life alongside some of Nashville’s most esteemed writers, with Cooke co-penning the tracks with Liz Rose, Lori McKenna, and Ashley Gorley, while working in the studio with producer Dann Huff and top-tier musicians like guitarist Ilya Toshinskiy. Throughout the project, she’s expected to highlight her raw, unfiltered storytelling alongside a breezy, coastal country sound that nods to her Florida roots.

Cooke has been slowly leaning into a baby-blue color palette and relaxed denim aesthetic in every aspect of her career as she continues the story she began with 2025’s ace. While that project introduced listeners to a more vulnerable side of Cooke, this new album finds her opening up even more, capturing her growth and confidence and the truth behind all her good and bad days.

Reflecting on the upcoming project, Cooke shares the heart behind the stories and explains just how personal this chapter really is.

“This record feels like a coming-of-age record disguised as a relationship album. I wrote a lot of it dead in the middle of real-life situations where I learned quite a bit about myself, so you’re getting the real, unpolished, recently-realized-truths in 15 tracks,” shares Cooke. “It’s messy, self-reflective, indecisive, filled with honesty, double entendres and emotional duality (I’m a Gemini, duh). Overall, it’s my perception of love and allllll the chaos it entails.”

Just a few days before sharing this exciting new chapter, the songstress gave fans a preview of what’s to come the premiere of her new song “high school sweetheart,” set to officially drop this Friday, May 8. This will mark the fifth track to arrive in advance of the full-length project, following her No. 1 onSiriusXM The Highway’s Hot 30 Countdown,“baby blues,” “excuses,” the char-climbing “the hell you are,” and “xs.” The remaining titles on the 15-song track list have yet to be revealed.

She’s also been teasing the rollout across social media, with eagle-eyed fans quickly picking up on some of the clues. Adding to the buzz, Cooke even shared a phone number for fans to call for a special preview of “high school sweetheart,” which later popped up again on a cryptic Nashville billboard.

As excitement continues to grow around her new self-titled album, Ashely Cooke is gearing up for a big few weeks ahead. First, she’s set to co-host and perform at the “ACM Next Wave: Country’s Beach Bash,” part of ACM Awards Week, taking place May 16 at Mandalay Bay Beach in Las Vegas. The lineup also includes Flatland Cavalry, Tucker Wetmore, Braxton Keith, and more.

Looking ahead to summer, Cooke will also hit the stage at festivals, including Hoofbeat on June 27 in Cadott, Wisconsin. Even more tour dates and appearances will be announced soon.
