Singer/songwriter Ashley Monroe took to social media on Thursday (March 3) to give fans an update on her battle with cancer and she had nothing but amazing news to share.
Monroe posted a “good news alert” stating the recent PET scans and lab-testing to see if her sixth, and final, round of chemotherapy worked – and it did!
Ashley shared across her social media accounts, “My blood work looked amazing and normal and so did my scans! They say this kind is incurable, but I’m just gonna believe it IS curable, and it’s gone forever. That was truly one of the most difficult seasons of my life. I didn’t know it was possible to feel so sick and defeated. BUT, I believe it was meant to be and I know it has made me a better person. Thank you for your prayers, I truly felt them. I love you all. Ready to make and share more music! To say I have a lot to say, is an understatement.”

Artists such as Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Little Big Town and more flooded the comments section celebrating the good news.
“Love you so much,” Lambert wrote, while Morris shared, “Hallelujah! 🙌🏼”
In July of 2021, the wife and mother revealed her cancer diagnosis when she announced that she was one day away from undergoing her first round of chemotherapy.
“A few months ago my dr. was doing some routine lab work and found that I was anemic. I was like, FINE, I’ll just double up on cheeseburger patties, take some extra vitamins and call it a day,” Monroe wrote at the time. “Well my red blood count just kept falling, and they found out my iron /b12/ folic acid numbers were actually fine. Short story long, they did a bone marrow biopsy, (ouch) , and VOILA… a rare kind of blood c word called ‘waldenstrom macroglobulinemia.’”
