Team Legend’s Bailey Rae and Sid Kingsley faced off during The Voice Battles on Monday (Nov. 9).
Coach John Legend asked the pair to battle while singing “Tennessee Whiskey.” The beloved country song was co-written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove and was originally made famous by George Jones in 1983. Chris Stapleton recorded the song in 2015 for his debut album, Traveller.
“I’m gonna make Blake so jealous,” Legend teased prior to their performance.
“I love this song,” Kelly Clarkson gushed as they began to sing.

The contestants each offered an incredible performance and received a standing ovation from the coaches. Legend, however, was only able to select one team member to advance to the next round.
Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton couldn’t help but praise their performance, each agreeing that they were both incredible, but that Sid was the clear winner of the battle.
Legend surprised everyone when he chose Bailey Rae to advance to the next round. She is the first country singer to ever appear on his team.
Sid Kingsley was available to save or steal and Clarkson used the opportunity to steal him for her team.
“I have no one on my team that sounds like Sid,” she shared, adding, “Welcome to Team Kelly.”
