Bailey Zimmerman Speaks Out After Delaware State Fair Concert Is Canceled Due to Power Outage

Bailey Zimmerman has apologized to fans after his July 26 concert at the Delaware State Fair was abruptly canceled due to a power outage, leaving attendees frustrated and searching for answers.

According to those in attendance, the country act was just three songs into his high-energy set when the power suddenly went out throughout the entire venue and grounds. Zimmerman attempted to make the most of it and keep things lighthearted until more information was shared. He passed around snacks, spoke and took selfies with fans and even tried to sing and play guitar without speakers or a mic or amplify his voice.

Unfortunately, moments later a voice came over the speakers announcing that the remainder of the show would be canceled as it would likely be a while before power was restored.

 “We are waiting on crews to come and fix the electric. At this point in time, it will take some time to get the power up and running…unfortunately we will need to cancel the show please evacuate the grand stand area at this point in time.”

Videos capturing the moment showed the crowd erupting in a collective string of boos as Zimmerman stood on stage, giving a thumbs down and visibly expressing his disappointment.

The “Chevy Silverado” singer made his way onto the M&T Bank Grandstand at 7:30PM and by 8PM, a “Power Outage Update” was posted on the official Instagram page of the Delaware State Fair.

“We are aware of the power outage currently affecting the Delaware State Fair. Our team is actively working to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to restore power. Thank you for bearing with us – we’ll share updates as they become available.”

Zimmerman later shared a statement apologizing to everyone who came out expecting a full concert only for the show to be cut short. He explained, “city lost power and there was nothing we could do.”

He assured fans that he is looking into being able to come back as he was “just getting started” and knows that his supporters “deserve a show.”

“Love y’all so much hope to see yall soon,” he concluded.

Fans have since filled the Delaware State Fair’s comment sections with complaints, expressing disappointment over the lack of communication regarding refunds for the abrupt cancellation.

“How do we get our money back?”

“so where is our refund????”

“we better get refunds.”

“Worst part was the fact that we waited soooo long for fireworks that never happened 😢”

“When will the refunds be issued for all of the people at the concert?!!!!”

At this time, it’s unclear what caused the power outage or when electricity was restored to the fairgrounds. However, the Delaware State Fair appears to be operating as scheduled for today, July 27, with its Instagram account continuing to promote the day’s events.

According to the fair’s website, Hudson Westbrook is still set to perform tonight, July 27, at 7:30 p.m.
