Billy Currington recently released a new song and it’s guaranteed to be the soundtrack to your summer.
Out now, “Seaside,” is a laid-back, sexy tune that puts Currington’s smooth vocals at the forefront. The song finds the Georgia native crooning over a lover, imaging her next to him soaking up the seaside.
“I can see you seaside, runnin’ ’round with a Rum Runner/ Hair down, wearin’ nothin’ but the summer/ I can see that sunshine layin’ its tan on you/ I can see the moonlight, like a spotlight down on you/ Salt life, baby, that’s the way I want to/ Waist deep in the ocean, while I soak in all that view/ Seaside/ I want you seaside,” he sings on the chorus.
Currington co-wrote the song alongside Jordan Schmidt and Steven Lee Olson.
“One morning we were just hanging out at the house in Tybee Island looking out at the blue skies, there was light winds that morning and there were some waves rolling in, and we were just thinking about how amazing it is and how amazing it would be to share all of this with someone,” the country hitmaker recalls. “And after talking about it for a while, I’d say by the end of the afternoon, we had written and recorded ‘Seaside.’”
“Seaside” follows the release of Currington’s 2019 release, “Details.” Click above to listen.
