Blake Shelton took home the title of Top Country Artist during the 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards on Sunday, Nov. 15 and he took a moment to give a sweet shoutout to Gwen Stefani during his acceptance speech.

“Wow. This is crazy. This is absolutely insane,” Shelton shared from The Barker Hangar in Southern California. “I’m so happy that we’re able to have this award show in spite of everything.”

The superstar went on to thank his label, Warner Music Nashville, for their support and then tipped his hat to those who matter most: the fans.

“Me and my team should be thanking all the fans out there who voted for this thing,” he said. “And I don’t spend a lot of time on social media anymore, but when I do look at it, all I see is fans retweeting and voting for—lately, for the People’s Choice Awards. Thank you so much.”

Before wrapping up his speech, the “Happy Anywhere” singer gave a special shoutout to his longtime love.

“Thank you to my new fiancée, Gwen Stefani,” he shared. “That’s S-t-e-f-a-n-i, if you need to Google it to figure out who she is. Thanks for the inspiration and I love you guys, thank you.”

After Shelton’s big win, Stefani went live on Instagram revealing she was outside the venue cheering him on from the car.

“Date night with Blake Shelton,” Stefani shared on Instagram. “So basically, I have to stay in the car because of COVID,” she added in another story, “But I’m here to support Blake in case he wins.”

Shelton and Stefani announced their engagement in late October. The big moment came nearly five years after they confirmed their romance.
