Brad Paisley honored the incredible women of the Grand Ole Opry with a performance of his brand new single, “Off Road,” during NBC’s Grand Ole Opry: 95 Years of Country Music special on Sunday, February 14.
“A lot of Opry history has been made by a lot of female artists who refused to stay in their lane,” the country superstar shared. “I wanted to sing this tonight for all of the women of the Opry, past and present, who’ve made this and the world such an interesting place. Road blocks never stopped a country girl, I’d say.”
During Paisley’s performance photos and clips of iconic women in country music flashed including Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Reba McEntire, Connie Smith, Barbara Mandrell, Jeannie Seely, Trisha Yearwood, as well as today’s country stars such as Kelsea Ballerini, Mickey Guyton, Carly Pearce, Taylor Swift, Ashley McBryde, Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman and Karen Fairchild.
“Off Road” is Paisley’s latest single and he says it’s “about every girl that won’t stay in her lane, every girl that busts through roadblocks to get where she wants to go.”
Grand Ole Opry: 95 Years of Country Music also featured performances from Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Garth Brooks, Kane Brown, Lady A, Little Big Town, Little Big Town, Old Crow Medicine Show, Dolly Parton, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Marty Stuart, Carrie Underwood and Trisha Yearwood.
