American Idol alum Colin Stough, was arrested for allegedly driving drunk after being involved in a car crash, according to TMZ.
According to the publication, the 20-year-old was taken into police custody after his vehicle was involved in a crash in Williamson County, Tennessee. The single-car incident took place early Friday, February 28 on I-840 East, just outside of Nashville.
TMZ reports that Stough was taken to a local hospital, later cleared, and then booked. According to the outlet, he was charged with “DUI, underage consumption of alcohol, and failure to exercise due care.”

Stough has reportedly been bailed out.
Colin Stough competed on Season 21 of the singing competition show, advancing to the live finale and securing third place behind winner Iam Tongi and runner-up Megan Danielle.
Stough initially caught the attention of the Idol judges with his performance of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” during his audition. Throughout the season, Stough performed songs such as “Cold” by Chris Stapleton, “Midnight Train To Memphis” by The SteelDrivers, “Pretty Heart” by Parker McCollum, “Dancing On My Own” by Robyn, “Midnight Rider” by The Allman Brothers, “It’s Been While” by Staind, “Hand In My Pocket” by Alanis Morissette and more.

He released “I Still Talk To Jesus” as his debut single before exiting the competition.
After the show, Stough returned with his debut EP, Promiseland, and in 2024, he released a brand-new six-track EP, Lookin’ For Home.
“I really just wanted to tell a story about my life and how it’s been. I think we really nailed it. Looking for Home is a really good EP, it’s a really good project. We’re very proud of it. I’m proud of all the producers, all the writers that are on the EP and I’m ready for the world to hear it,” he shared in an interview with Country Now about the project.

Last summer, Stough made headlines when he got engaged to former Miss Jr. Teen Mississippi Mckenzie Rhett.
“Only God knew that a pretty little angel would end up with a tatted up cowpoke. I love you and this life with you and I can’t wait for the miles and the memories we will have to my best friend and my life partner,” he captioned the announcement post. “Let’s get married.”
Mckenzie also revealed the news on Instagram, writing, “I love you Colin Stough! My best friend and lover for life let’s get married.”
There’s no word on Colin and Mckenzie’s relationship status as it’s been quite some time since they have appeared on each other’s Instagram feeds.
Most recently, Stough hit the road with fellow Idol alum Will Moseley on a fall tour, and just six days ago, the singer/songwriter asked fans, “Who’s ready for some new tunes,” hinting that new music is on the way.
