Grand Ole Opry member Lauren Alaina revealed she is engaged during her Saturday night (Nov. 19) appearance on country music’s most famous stage.
The 28-year-old star introduced her longtime love as her “fiancé” in the middle of her Opry performance.
“Cameron, come here,” Alaina called out from the stage.

After he joined her, she told the crowd, “Everybody, this is my fiancé. I told him he had to come out here and we had to get a picture, so, we’re doing it because this is the circle and I’m going to hold my hand up and do the thing. Make some noise for my future husband everybody!”
Alaina admitted that Cameron wasn’t a fan of going on stage and went on to show off her new bling.
“He did not want to do that… He likes to be in the shadows, and he was like ‘you’re not making me come out there’ and I said ‘you are not, not getting a picture in the circle. So, we negotiated and he came out for the picture,” she explained.
“This is the most important place in the world to me and he’s the most important person to me, so, it was pretty amazing to put ‘em together and also [he] did really good,” Alaina added as she pointed at the diamond ring on her finger.
While she didn’t go into too many details about the engagement she revealed that it happened on Friday (Nov. 18) and later recalled seeing the ring for the first time.
“I talk a lot as y’all have seen and I did not speak for about 45 seconds when I looked at this ring and realized what was happening. I did not see it coming. It was perfect in every way and I can’t wait to spend forever with him, so I wanted to share [it with you]. Nobody knows I haven’t told anybody, so I told you first,” she sweetly shared as the audience erupted with applause.
After taking a photo in the Opry circle, Alaina went on to say, “Okay, now I’m going to sing now that I got my picture and I shared it. I’m going to get married. My Dad’s listening, Dad I love you. He’s not here tonight, but he’s listening to the radio. Thank you for letting me do that and now I’m going to sing a song about love. Isn’t that funny, this is my second No. 1 and I sing it with a guy I grew up with. This is ‘What Ifs.’”
Alaina and Cameron have reportedly been dating for over two years. Their relationship has been kept mostly out of the spotlight as Alaina has only shared little snippets about him in various interviews.
“He’s just a regular guy, a business guy, goes to work every day in a suit. He’s a normal guy, he’s from Georgia, I’m from Georgia and Jon Pardi likes him.” Alaina previously shared (per Talent Recap).
Alaina previously dated Alex Hopkins for six years. They were engaged in July of 2018, however, they called off their engagement six months later.
It’s been an eventful year for Lauren Alaina, who parted ways with her longtime record label, Mercury Nashville, earlier this year.
Months later, the chart-topping country star revealed that she signed with Big Loud Records and has a new album in the works.
“Signed a very BIG and LOUD record deal. Thank you, @bigloud for being willing and LABEL to make music with me. Let’s goooooo!!!! ,” she proudly announced on Instagram.
Since then, the American Idol alum has been hard at work on the highly anticipated project.
“It’s definitely very country. Very, ” Alaina told Everything Nash of her forthcoming album. “I would say that it really represents my personality well. I’ve just been writing for it and preparing and listening, but it represents Lauren Alaina from Rossville, Georgia, very well, I would say.”
She also revealed that she plans to write songs for the project and also cut several outside songs.
“I’m doing a little bit of both,” she went on to say. “I think I’m at the point where I don’t have to write every song I put out. I’m writing a lot of them, but I just want the best album I can possibly make. And if that means I don’t write a single song on it, so be it. I just wanna put out the best album I’ve ever made.”
Alaina, who officially became an Opry member in February of this year, is set to return to the Grand Ole Opry House on Thursday, December 1 for the Opry Country Christmas Show alongside Mandy Barnett, Charlie McCoy, Riders In The Sky, The Gatlin Brothers, Rhonda Vincent, and more.
