Country hitmaker Brett Eldredge announced that he will be hitting the road this summer for the Songs About You Tour. Traveling coast-to-coast with shows from California and New York, the powerhouse will begin the trek June 19th, in his home state of Illinois. The tour wraps on September 24th in Michigan.

Tickets for the highly anticipated tour will go on-sale to the general public Friday, May 20th at 10am local time.

Along with the tour announcement, Eldredge released the vulnerable and intimate new track “Wait Up For Me.” The song will appear on his upcoming fifth studio album and was written by Eldredge alongside Mark Trussell and Heather Morgan. The album, Songs About You, will be available everywhere beginning June 17th.

“Mark [Trussell] and I started writing this song by the fireplace in Montana,” Eldredge shared. “He was playing around with some chords on the piano, and I just started singing and putting a sexy feel to it. Heather [Morgan] was dealing with some altitude sickness that day and was resting at the time but suddenly she appeared out of nowhere with this amazing line – ‘I’m gonna keep you warm like a furnace in the winter // you can cool me off like a summertime breeze.’ She arose from her slumber and just jumped right in!”

“Songs About You,” the upbeat heartbreak single that inspired the title of the record, was written by Eldredge, Jessie Jo Dillon and Ben West. Telling the story of constantly being reminded of an old flame due to hearing memories of them in every song, the track cleverly plays into the hook stating lyrics from classic songs – such as Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing In The Dark,” Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” and Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl.”
