Brett Young is giving fans another taste of what’s to come on his much-anticipated new album with the release of a groovy new song called “You Got Away With It.”
The uptempo tune features an infectious melody that will, without a doubt, have fans hooked upon first listen. The summer-ready track begs for radio airplay as it encapsulates Young’s signature sound in a way that has yet to be done.
Lyrically, the song finds the California native crooning over an unexpected love, begging her not to break his heart after he fell so hard.
“You got away with it/ So don’t you go breakin’ it/ Girl, you’ve been makin’ it tough for me to not love/ Every little thing that you do, baby/ You got away with it,” he sings on the chorus.
“We’ve been recording a ton of music over the last year and I couldn’t wait any longer to share some of the material from this new chapter,” Young, who co-wrote the song alongside Justin Ebach, Ashley Gorley, Jon Nite and Jimmy Robbins, said. “’This song was a blast to write, and ultimately pushed me into a bit of a new sonic territory in the studio that I’m really proud of.”
The release of “You Got Away With It” comes as the superstar’s latest single, “Lady,” makes its way into the Top 10 at country radio. The song follows six consecutive No.1 hits and severs as a touching love letter to his wife and daughter.
Young and his wife, Taylor, are preparing to welcome their second child this summer.
