Brett Young continues his streak of success at country radio this week as his latest single, “Catch,” tops both the Mediabase/Country Airplay and Billboard Country charts.
This marks the multi-platinum singer’s sixth consecutive chart-topping single. The news comes as the song also achieves Gold certification by the RIAA, signifying sales in excess of 500,000. To date, “Catch” has raked in over 141 million streams worldwide.
“I can’t believe we are celebrating another No. 1 with ‘Catch,’” Young, who co-wrote the song alongside Ross Copperman and Ashley Gorley, shared in a statement. “I’m overwhelmed by the continued support I’ve received from my fans and country radio. These always feel good, but in our current situation, this one feels extra special to celebrate with my family. Thank y’all SO MUCH!”
Young made headlines with the release of the “Catch” music video last summer. The semi-autobiographical clip follows the storyline of a college baseball player who ends up falling for a classmate. While their love story unfolds, viewers watch the star baseball player’s dreams come crashing down as he is sidelined due to an injury. The video and storyline come to a close with a goosebump-evoking ending.
