Brett Young’s latest single, “Lady,” is resonating with fans far and wide. The emotional track is a tribute to his wife and daughter and is the first single from his yet-to-be-announced new album.
The chart-topping singer/songwriter has been hard at work crafting songs for the upcoming project, which he says will be very personal. In a recent interview with his record label, Young shared a few details about a song on the album, revealing that a song by a fellow country superstar helped inspire it.
“So, there are kind of throwback stories on the new record,” he explained. “There’s a song that’s in a way similar to ‘Letters to Me,’ Brad Paisley, but it’s my version of that.”
Although he lead with “Lady,” Young says the album won’t be full of songs about his daughter, but more so songs about his life.
“Everything’s gonna be about this chapter of life,” he said.
With no tour dates on the books due to the ongoing coronavirus, Young has a lot of time on his hands to finish the project and there’s no doubt fans will be waiting for it.
