Carly Pearce recently shared a snippet of herself covering one of Garth Brooks’ biggest hits and it’s just what 2020 needed. “The Dance” is a song that most, if not all, country fans know and is a fan-favorite of Brooks’ discography.

The clip showcases Pearce singing the timeless Brooks’ tune playing her acoustic guitar in a pair of ripped jeans and a white tank top whilst sitting on what looks like her living room floor.

“This song came on when I was driving late last night & it punched me straight in the gut, just like country songs do. Some songs just stand the test of time…” Pearce captioned the clip.

“The Dance” was released in 1990 as the fourth single off Brooks’ self-titled debut album. The sentimental track is considered to be one of Brooks’ signature songs and was a three-week No.1.

Pearce recently kicked off her “new era” with the release of her new single “Next Girl,” which you can hear HERE. She also has taken over Country Now’s playlist to showcase songs that inspired her to write the aforementioned new track.
