After months of speculation about the current status of her love life, Carly Pearce has finally confirmed that she is in fact dating her drummer, BC Taylor.
Fans began to speculate about their romance after Pearce began sharing photos of her and BC on social media over the summer. In July, the posts became more regular and the pair appeared to be quite cozy together in many of the snapshots.
Carly Pearce’s Boyfriend Is Also Her Drummer
Now, months after their working relationship turned romantic, Pearce confirmed that they’ve been together “probably longer than I want to admit.” (This relationship comes after Pearce and Nashville-based realtor, Riley King, broke up early last summer.)
In an interview with Taste of Country Nights, the Kentucky native shared, “For me, it’s never really been something I voiced, but I had just a really instant connection with him and it’s really fun to get to share that world.”
She went on to explain that she and Taylor share a deeper connection as they both understand the ins and outs of the music industry and life on the road. “That world is very different and it’s nice to have somebody out there supporting you that gets it and is quite literally the backbone of your every night,” she said.
Her Personal Life Is “Good”
In a separate interview with People, Pearce said that her personal life is “good” and elaborated on working with her new beau.
“It’s much nicer. It’s a hard world out there,” she said, referencing their shared careers as musicians, “and it’s hard to relate to people that don’t know that world.”
While she admitted she never saw herself dating a member of her band, Pearce is glad that BC Taylor came into her life.
“I certainly never thought I would find myself in this situation,” Pearce said, “but it just happened. I’m happy. It’s good.”
Taylor is a proud boyfriend and often cheers Pearce on via social media. On October 4, following their performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he wrote, “I am so proud to be with this woman. I played my first major late-night television show tonight and I did it with someone I love. I do not feel deserving of how blessed my life is, but that is just how God does it. He over delivers and I am so thankful he does.”
She was quick to reply to the post: “BRB CRYING… I love you!!!”
New Album Coming Soon
For her Tonight Show appearance, Pearce performed her song “Country Music Made Me Do It,” which serves as a love letter to the genre. The track is expected to appear on Pearce’s yet-to-be-announced fourth studio album. She recently confirmed that the album is finished and that fans can expect it sooner rather than later.
“Well, it’s done. We’re mixing it,” she confirmed to ABC Audio. “You’re probably going to get it in the beginning of the year.”
Also featured on the forthcoming album will be her current single, “We Don’t Fight Anymore” featuring Chris Stapleton. The chart-climbing ballad was released in June and unlocked a new musical era for Pearce. Upon its release to country radio on June 16, the song raked in 95 first-week adds and marked the biggest add date of her career so far.
“This song embodies a place that I think, if we are honest with ourselves, we’ve all felt at some point in a relationship. The distance that feels heartbreaking, yet you’re also indifferent.” Pearce previously shared of the track on social media. “I’ve always been a writer who never wanted to shy away from the ‘uncomfortable’ moments in all of our lives, and this song feels too important not to share.”
