Carly Pearce took to social media on the morning of Thursday, May 30 to share a health update with fans. During her vulnerable video message, the female songstress revealed that she has developed a heart issue that will likely affect how her shows will look for the foreseeable future.
“Hey, I have always been transparent and honest about every part of my life, so I feel like this deserves the same honesty,” Pearce began before explaining she has been diagnosed with something called “Pericarditis.” According to Mayo Clinic, Pericarditis is “swelling and irritation of the thin, saclike tissue surrounding the heart,” and the most common symptom of the “mild” heart issue is typically chest pains.
How Will This Affect Carly Pearce’s Upcoming Shows?
Pearce went on to say that she has been working closely with her doctors including her cardiologist to ensure she is able to still be out on the road and sharing her music in fans, something that she said is “really important” to her. In order to continue touring while still making sure she is taking care of her health, Pearce revealed she will be altering her shows “a little bit.”
“If my shows look a little bit different, just know it’s because I have to keep my heart rate under control right now. And that doesn’t mean that I’m not going to be completely fine. It just means right now I’ve got to really take this seriously,” she shared. “If you’re coming to the shows, if you are going to be a part of any of the amazing things we have going on with Hummingbird, it is all going to be great. It just might look a little different.”
Encourages Fans To Prioritize Their Health
At the end of her video message, the “We Don’t Fight Anymore” singer asked for her fans to give her some “grace” as she continues to work through this difficult time. Additionally, she took the opportunity to encourage her followers to always make their health a priority.
“I’m asking for a little bit of grace and truly more importantly, if any of you are dealing with any kind of health stuff or aren’t, I’m a young, healthy person that really watches what I eat and exercises and this happened to me. So I just want to use my platform to tell you to take care of your body and listen to it and just know that if it’s trying to tell you something, it’s going to tell you. So I love you guys and I’ll see you soon,” Pearce concluded.
Many fans and fellow artists shared plenty of love for Carly Pearce in the comment section and sighed her a speedy recovery.
