The Battle Rounds continued on Season 30 of The Voice as Caroline Alexis and Everett Bounds teamed up for a lively rendition of Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn’s classic duet, “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man.”

The two contestants brought more than just their impressive vocals to the stage. They delivered a memorable performance complete with simple choreography and a clear connection that brought the song’s playful love story to life. As they held each other’s gaze and sang directly to one another, Caroline and Everett created a natural chemistry that made the timeless country hit feel authentic.

Both singers appeared comfortable and confident onstage and had each of the four coaches smiling by the end of the delivery that found them leaning into the fun, flirtatious energy of the 1973 tune.

Each of the coaches agreed that it would be extremely difficult for Riley Green to decide which contestant to keep on his team and which to send home. They each gave their thoughts on the performance to help him make the call.

Kelly Clarkson was up first. She called the performance “fun” and stated that it felt like a “throwback” country moment that captured the same feeling of watching Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner on a variety show back in the day. Queen Latifah made the same positive comment, praising them for bringing the nostalgia to the stage.

“I loved it so much. Caroline, your tone is sweet, it’s storyteller, it’s sensual, and your character that you played throughout the whole song, I dig that. I think it was really smart of Everett to kind of go big in couple parts and kind of show his range, but I feel like this was pretty evenly matched,” she added.

Adam Levine admitted that this kind of sound was “far out of my jurisdiction,” but it was clear he still enjoyed the performance and even stated that he felt Everett performance better this time around than in his blind audition.

“I do not feel like I can say much here to comment on the technicality of what you did, but it was great. I really enjoyed it…I’m leaning Everett, but it was such a fun group effort that honestly, it’s weird picking somebody because it was a great partnership and I just really enjoyed it.”

Being from Alabama and growing up on timeless hits like this one, Riley Green explained that this was the first time that a performance on the show truly made it feel like he was back home in a honky tonk.

“It’s not a showcase your vocals kind of song. It’s more about a performance. And Caroline, you really just laid into it. Had attitude and it was sassy and country and everything I love about country music in Alabama. So you were great. It was awesome,” he stated. “Everett, man, you did all the stuff I thought you were going to do. You got the look, you got the attitude up there, you cut up, you don’t take yourself too seriously. And that’s what the song’s about. It’s about having fun and you did a great job. Like I said, you did exactly what I asked you to do.”

As tough as it was to pick, Green declared Everette the winner of this battle round.

“At the end of the day, I just had to go with Everett because he’s so natural in that fun, uptempo, traditional country song. And I think that’s something that we really need on my team… Everett was a one-chair turn and I think people are realizing now that he’s a talented guy and that he can do a lot of other things. And so I’m excited that we’re kind of showing them that,” Green said, explaining his decision.

Caroline’s time in the competition has come to an end, but Everette will be moving forward.

A new episode of The Voice featuring more Battle Rounds airs tonight, Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC. The show is also available for streaming the next day on Peacock.
