Carrie Underwood closed out one of the most heartfelt and memorable nights in Nashville with a breathtaking performance of Dolly Parton’s signature song, “I Will Always Love You.”
On Wednesday, October 21, more than 20 artists came together at Belmont University for “CMA Presents I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton,” honoring the country icon’s life, legacy and the countless people she touched throughout her career. At the very end of the two-hour special, Underwood took the stage to deliver the final performance of the evening, bringing the celebration to a powerful and emotional close.

Introduced by Vince Gill, Underwood appeared on stage in a stunning ballgown featuring delicate butterfly appliques, a fitting tribute to one of Parton’s most recognizable symbols. With her long blonde hair cascading over her shoulders, the country superstar began her rendition of “I Will Always Love You,” allowing her remarkable vocals to carry the weight of the beloved classic.
As the song reached its final chorus, the moment became even more special when all the artists and special guests in attendance joined Underwood onstage. They all came together to sing the iconic closing lines, creating a powerful moment in front of the live audience.
When the final notes faded, the room gave a standing ovation. Tears were shed, hugs were exchanged, and the emotion of the evening was clear. It was a fitting end to a night dedicated to celebrating Parton’s extraordinary life.
