Maddie & Tae’s Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye are soaking up the time that’s left of their run on Carrie Underwood’s Cry Pretty Tour 360. The ladies are having the time of their life and have developed strong relationships with everyone on the tour, including Underwood and Runaway June, but most importantly, Underwood’s 4-year-old son, Isaiah.
“My relationship with Isaiah is just getting stronger and stronger,” Marlow recently shared with Country Now and other Nashville media. “I love him so much.”
Marlow, who is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Jonah Font, admitted she had a tough time breaking the news of her impending marriage to Isaiah.
“I had to tell him. I was like, ‘Isaiah, I’m going to be getting married this year,’” she explained. “He was kind of confused and kind of just brushed it off.”
Things really sunk in when Dye, who just got engaged to singer/songwriter, Josh Kerr, continued the conversation about marriage with Isaiah when they were eating dinner together at catering.
“I was telling him, ‘Look. I got engaged since the last time I saw you. I’m going to get married,’ and I said, ‘Do you want to get married one day?’ And he said, ‘No,’” Dye recalled. “And I was like, ‘Well, you know your mommy and daddy are married.’ And he goes, ‘Oh, yeah.’ So I said, ‘So are you sure you don’t want to get married?’ He goes, ‘Yeah, I want to marry Maddie.’”
Marlow first thought? “Oh, yikes. I don’t know how I’m going to break this one to him.”
Isaiah even gifted Marlow with a ring that he borrowed from Dye.
Underwood previously joked about Isaiah’s crush on Marlow on Twitter writing, “This morning my 4-year-old, who hates wearing jeans, asked to wear jeans so he could “look cute for Maddie.” He also asked me to fix his hair and to get him some flowers that he could give to her. Don’t you break his heart @MaddieMarlow!!!”
If this little crush continues, it sounds like Isaiah will be the one standing up and objecting at Marlow’s wedding!
Fans can catch Maddie & Tae on Carrie Underwood’s Cry Pretty 360 Tour through October 31. The duo’s new EP, Everywhere I’m Goin’, will be released on October 18.
