Outlaw State of Kind, Chris and Morgane Stapleton’s charitable fund, has donated $1 million to support local and national organizations aiding in the wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles.
Earlier this month, thousands of homes were destroyed in Los Angeles when wildfire broke out and ravaged neighborhoods across the area. According to a report from AP News on Jan. 28, the Palisades Fire, the largest of the blazes that killed at least 12 people, has reached 94% containment. Meanwhile, the Eaton Fire, which has killed at least 17 people, has been 98% contained and the more than 10000-acre Hughes Fire that caused evacuation orders or warnings for over more than 50,000 people was nearly contained as of Monday (Jan. 27).
After months of dry weather and strong winds that led to the dangerous fire conditions, heavy rain and snowfall finally struck parts of California over the weekend. Los Angeles city and county officials shared last week that cleanup efforts have been accelerated in addition to other measures being taken to reduce the impact of fire-related pollutants.
In the wake of so much devastation and loss, people and organizations all over the world have stepped up to do what they can to help those affected. Outlaw State of Kind has joined this united fight by making an incredibly generous donation and inviting others to offer their support however possible.
Named after Stapleton’s song, “Outlaw State of Mind” that appears on his debut album, Traveller, this fund was founded by the country music couple in 2016 and is administered by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Having this fund that supports many causes close to their heart has allowed the Stapleton’s to use their platforms to give back to their communities and beyond.
Not only has the fund contributed directly to local California fire departments and food banks, but they have also offered aid to the many animals also caught in the path of disaster as well as charities that provide resources to members of the music community.
