The 9th annual Nashville Songwriter Awards are set to return to the historic Ryman Auditorium on September 22, and the next round of performers have officially been announced.
Hosted by the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) alongside presenting partner City National Bank, the annual event honors the craft of songwriting by recognizing award recipients. More than a dozen acclaimed songwriters will gather for a celebratory evening among their peers and star-studded performances.
Leading this year’s lineup are Chris Stapleton, Ashley McBryde and Steve Earle, who will each take the stage throughout the night to pay tribute to the night’s honorees with songs they “wish they had written,” as well as the music that has made the biggest impact on the charts over the past year.

Additional performers include Dan Alley, Ryan Beaver, Jacob Davis, Ray Fulcher, Ben Johnson, Chris LaCorte, Chase McGill, Neil Medley, Josh Miller, Blake Pendergrass, Hunter Phelps, Bobby Pinson, Jeremy Stover, Lydia Vaughan and Jordan Walker. Even more will be added to the lineup in the coming weeks.
As for the night’s recipients of the special honors, it has already been announced that Vince Gill will earn the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award, Paul Williams will claim the NSAI President’s Keystone Award, Pendergrass will be recognized as Songwriter of the Year, and Riley Green will take home Songwriter-Artist of the Year.
Attendees will have to wait until the show to find out the winners of Song of the Year, the 10 Songs I Wish I’d Written honors and the Legendary Song Award, as each will be revealed through special on-stage moments.
Each year, the Nashville Songwriters Association International, aka the world’s largest not-for-profit, hosts the event to celebrate the songwriting community while continuing its mission of protecting and supporting songwriters of all genres.
Tickets for the 9th annual Nashville Songwriter Awards will go on sale this Friday, July 17 at 10:00 a.m. CT at www.ryman.com
