A slew of country artists welcomed their new bundles of joy into the world this year. Some added to their number of little ones at home while others have taken on the role of a first-time parent. While embarking on this next chapter of life, these stars are having to learn to balance life at home and life on the road, which is no easy feat for members of the music industry.
Country Now has compiled a list of country stars who shared their pregnancy journeys and announced the arrivals of their newborns in 2022.
Taylor Dye Kerr and Josh Kerr
After being hospitalized for over a month due to pregnancy complications, Maddie & Tae’s Taylor Dye Kerr and her husband, Josh Kerr welcomed their first daughter. Weighing in at 2 lbs, 5 oz., Leighton Grace surprised the new parents on January 17, three months earlier than expected. It was a difficult journey, but they had plenty of support from loved ones and fans who followed their story.
“She’s beautiful, strong and everything we have ever dreamed of,” Taylor wrote on Instagram at the time of the birth. ”She decided to be a Capricorn like her daddy. We already can’t wait for the day we get to finally take her home 💜”
Jake Hoot and Brittney
On Sunday, July 24, Jake Hoot officially became a father of two. He and his wife, Brittney shared the news that their daughter Madilyn Bri Hoot had joined their family at 3:30 am, weighing 7 lb, 4 oz and measuring 18 ¾ long upon arrival. The couple also raises Hoot’s 6-year-old Macy, from a previous marriage.
“Well we did a thang last week! World, meet little Miss Madilyn Bri. We couldn’t be more in love 😍,” the country star wrote alongside the hashtags #girldad #ladiesman #mybaby #ilovemygirls.
Brittney also took to social media to share a heartfelt family photo with the caption, “One week ago today, I experienced the biggest miracle of my life! We welcomed our ‘Little Feet’ into the world, and could not be more in love with her!”
Jennifer Wayne and Austin Moody
On Friday, April 22, Runaway June’s Jennifer Wayne and her husband, Austin Moody took to social media to introduce their first child, Lily Maria. They each posted stunning photos of their little one both in the hospital and her arrival at home. After taking some time to focus all her attention on her mom duties, Wayne also received a warm welcome back to work from her bandmates.
“Ecaped[sic] from the womb! Wanted for stealing mine and @jenniferwayne hearts. Goes by the name of Lily Maria Moody ❤️,” Moody shared on social media. “Everyone is happy and healthy, thankful for our new addition 😎”
“Welcome to the world Lily Maria Moody. 4-18-22. We love you so so much. 💕💕💕,” Wayne captioned her post.
Sam Hunt and Hannah
Sam Hunt and his wife, Hannah Lee Fowler welcomed their daughter Lucy Lu into the world in June. While most details have been kept private, Hunt confirmed the news of his baby girl’s arrival and shared that she has already had a great impact on his life during a headlining performance at Star’s For Second Harvest on June 7.
“I think being out here in the music business and being out on the road is sort of hard on my heart,” Hunt told the crowd. “My heart definitely a lot harder some days since I left that small town, but it’s amazing how that little girl melted that all away overnight a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been filled with a lot of gratitude these past couple of weeks and I just want to say up here on The Ryman stage how grateful I am to have been a part of Country music for the last ten years.”
Luke Combs and Nicole Hocking
Luke Combs received the best gift when he and his wife Nicole welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19, 2022. Fans were quick to congratulate the new parents on their baby boy, Tex Lawrence Combs, who the country star reported brought them so much joy as he came into the world as healthy as can be.
“Welp he decided that Fathers Day would be a good time to show up. I couldn’t agree more. Me and @nicolejcombs are over the moon in love with this little guy,” he wrote alongside their first family photo in the baby’s nursery. “Mama and baby are healthy and we’re back home now with family. Life is good. Everyone welcome Tex Lawrence Combs to the world!”
Holly Williams and Chris Coleman
Holly Williams, country singer and daughter of Hank Williams Jr. and granddaughter of country legend Hank Williams, welcomed her fourth child with her husband Chris Coleman on Sunday, Sept. 25. Their newborn daughter, Georgia Grace came early during a girls road trip to Fairhope, Alabama. Luckily, she seemed to be in the right place at the right time.
“It’s a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!! Georgia Grace Coleman came into this world at 12:08am two weeks ago today on September 25th 👼🏼 Stella June, Lillie Mae and Arlo are absolutely, deliriously in love with her along with @colemantime and myself,” Williams wrote on social media. “She is a dream come true, and she brings the most beautiful light and tenderness with her in the room wherever she goes. From the hospital to our home, she has filled these spaces up with deep awe and joy. I’m eternally grateful, and can’t wait to share more of her precious moments ❤️❤️❤️”
Chris Lane and Lauren Bushnell
Chris Lane and his wife, Lauren Bushnell welcomed their baby boy, Baker Weston Lane, on Oct. 16. Just two days later on (Oct. 18), they got to witness the sweet moment of their first son, Dutton Walker Lane, meeting his baby brother for the first time. While opening up about her second pregnancy, Lauren admitted they were both shocked to see a positive test result this year.
“To be quite honest, I’ve never been more shocked in my entire life, because this was very much an unexpected surprise,” Lauren told People. “We had planned on having at least two kids, so we’re very thankful that it was able to happen for us, even if it wasn’t necessarily on our exact timing. We’re both just incredibly excited.”
Randy Houser and Tatiana
On October 19, Randy Houser and his wife Tatiana took to social media to officially announce the news that their second child, Harlan “Banks” Houser, was born. Their growing household means that Houser is now a father to his newborn, Banks, his son Huckleberry Randolph who he and Tatiana, welcomed into the world in 2019, and his 10-year-old son, West, from a previous relationship.
“Answered prayers and hearts so full 🙏🏼,” Houser wrote on social media after the birth, sharing a slideshow of adorable family photos. “We have spent the past 4 weeks soaking up every minute of family time with baby Banks. Thank you Lord for this sweet boy!!”

Scotty McCreery and his wife Gabi announced the arrival of their first son, Merrick Avery McCreery, on Tuesday, October 24. The new dad took to social media to share a carousel of photos documenting the exciting day, and also revealed that his family is doing well.
“Never known a love like this Merrick Avery McCreery joined us 11 days early on October 24th at 4:34am! 7 lbs 13oz of nothin but love💙 Thank yall for all of your prayers during this exciting season of life! Healthy baby and a healthy mama! Praise God🙌🏼🙏🏼 ,” McCreery wrote in his caption.
Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehner
Country singer/songwriters Gabby Barrett and her husband Cade Foehner officially became a family of four when they welcomed their son, Augustine Boone Foehner, on October 27. On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8, they first announced that they would be adding another child.
“Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing, strong, and fruitful Bride! @gabbybarrett_” Foehner wrote on his post to Barrett. ”She is currently carrying another precious life made in the image of God. A son to bear our name into the next generation. Our children will rise up and call her blessed, this husband also, praises her. Proverbs 31:28 ‘Praise God from whom all blessings flow!’”
Their baby boy joins his younger sister Baylah Mae, who arrived in January of 2021.
“Soaking up the newborn days with baby brother. What a precious gift from our Lord!” Barrett wrote on Instagram following the birth.
Niko Moon and Anna Moon
Niko Moon took to social media to announce that on Wednesday, Nov. 16, he and his wife, Anna welcomed their first child, Lily Anne Moon. The heartfelt post captured the country star holding his daughter in his arms in the hospital chair while staring at her lovingly. His caption read, “Lily Anne Moon is here y’all! 💛”
When they first revealed the pregnancy, Moon and Anna also unveiled a teaser of the new song they had written together. “I Can’t Wait To Love You” was penned as a heartfelt ode to their long journey with IVF [in-vitro fertilization], which came to an end when they finally say those two pink lines.
Chase Wright and Brittany Norris
Chase Wright and his girlfriend Brittany Norris welcomed their son Ashur Lee into the world on November 21. The couple explained that having a family has always been a common wish for them. When they met almost two years ago, Norris was already a mom to her daughter Eden. Since then, Wright has been acting as another parental figure and in doing so, he has learned a lot about what it takes to raise a kid.
“I knew when I met [girlfriend] Brittany [Norris] that she was special, and I couldn’t imagine living life with anyone else,” the country singer shared exclusively with PEOPLE. “We both knew shortly after officially dating that one day we wanted to grow the family we were building. Neither of us knew exactly when that would be, but God had a plan for us the entire time.”
Drew Baldridge and Katherine
Christmas came early for Drew Baldridge and his wife, Katherine Kraus! The couple welcomed their first child into the world on Monday, Dec. 19. Their son, Lyric Lee, arrived a week after his due date and the couple couldn’t have been more thrilled to finally hold him in their arms.
“We are overwhelmed with love and excitement getting to finally meet our baby boy. He’s the best gift for Christmas that we could ever ask for!” they told PEOPLE following his arrival.
Lyric made his debut in Nashville, weighing in at 7lbs, 8 oz. He measured 19 inches.
