Nashville is THE place to ring in the year and this year, Music City is living up to its nickname with a New Year’s Eve show like no other.
On Saturday, Dec. 31, Nashville will host a star-studded event featuring 50 back-to-back performances airing as part of the CBS special, New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash.
The five-hour broadcast will have viewers counting down the New Year on the East Coast and the party will continue through midnight Central with the iconic Music Note Drop in Music City.
Country stars Jimmie Allen and Elle King will co-host the event alongside Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith.
In addition to the previously announced hosts, it was also revealed that CMT’s Cody Alan and WCBS’ Lonnie Quinn will go live from New York City for the ball drop in Times Square before the Nashville crowd rings in the New Year in Central Time.
When And How To Watch?
The show, which will air LIVE from Music City, will take place on Saturday, December 31 from 8:00-10:00 PM ET and 10:30 PM-1:30 AM ET via CBS Network. The show will also stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
Who Is Hosting?
Jimmie Allen, Elle King and Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith will co-host the evening’s festivities.
“When I got the call to host New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, I was super excited and started looking forward to it right then,” Allen shared. “I was part of the show last year as a performer, so being able to co-host it this year with Elle King & Rachel Smith and see all the great performances that are lined up — it’s going to be awesome.”
Allen continued, “Hosting is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and to do it on CBS is a big deal. I get to represent not only Nashville and country music but my home state of Delaware — primetime television on New Year’s Eve! Let’s bring this new year in right!”
“New Year’s Eve has always been one of my favorite nights to celebrate because we get to reflect on the year we’ve had while getting a fresh start,” King added. “Nashville has been so amazing and welcoming to me this year and I can’t wait to see what next year brings. I am so excited to be hosting the festivities live from Music City!”
“This hometown gal is thrilled to be back for round two of Nashville’s Big Bash,” Smith said. “Hanging with my talented country friends in Music City on New Year’s Eve is the ultimate way to kick off the New Year!”
Who Is Performing?
The show will feature several dozen performances from some of the hottest stars in country music, including Jason Aldean, Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, King Calaway, Sheryl Crow, Riley Green, Wynonna Judd, Elle King, Little Big Town, Ashley McBryde, Thomas Rhett, Darius Rucker, Lainey Wilson, The War And Treaty, and Zac Brown Band.
A star-studded list of collaborations will also take place during the five-hour broadcast. Joining forces throughout the event are Jimmie Allen And Flo Rida, Kelsea Ballerini And Wynonna Judd, Sheryl Crow And Ashley McBryde, Steve Miller With King Calaway, Thomas Rhett With Riley Green, as well as Zac Brown Band With The War And Treaty.
While most of the performances are pre-taped, Kelsea Ballerini, Brooks & Dunn and Zac Brown Band will perform live in-person during the free New Year’s Eve concert at Bicentennial Mall in Nashville, Tennessee on December 31.
