Three-time GRAMMY Award-winner Darius Rucker is returning to the Ryman Auditorium on Monday, June 6th for a benefit show in honor of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The event marks the unofficial kick-off of an eventful week in Music City – the CMA Music Festival.
Darius and Friends, which has raised over $2.5 million for St. Jude to date, will feature an unbeatable lineup including some of Rucker’s most well-known friends.
“I can’t wait to be back at the Ryman with all of our friends from St. Jude,” shares the Grand Ole Opry member. “This show is always a highlight of the year for me, because it not only raises funds for a very important cause, but it also allows me to bring together some of my best friends in Nashville for a fun night of incredible music.”
Rucker has always been passionate about giving back; In 2008, Darius vowed to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital after visiting the hospital himself and seeing all the inspiring and strong children.
The country star shared details on his memorable visit to the Tennessean last year. “You see these kids who are sick, and they’re so happy to be there, because their caregivers are so loving and giving to them. And then you find out that nobody ever gets a bill. That blew me away. I was just like, ‘We’ll figure out some way to help you guys as much as I can,’” Rucker shared.
Keeping his commitment to St. Jude, Darius Rucker continues to annually support them by teaming up with fellow Nashville stars to put on a benefit show. Past events have included performances from Lauren Alaina, Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Brothers Osborne, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Sheryl Crow, John Daly, Charles Kelley of Lady A, Ashley McBryde, A.J. McLean of the Backstreet Boys, Brad Paisley, and more. This year’s lineup will be announced soon.
Tickets to the 13th Annual Darius and Friends benefit concert will go on sale to the public this Friday, April 8 at 10 am CT. Tickets will be available at AXS.com.
