Breakout pop-country star Dasha follows her wildly successful track “Austin” with the infectious “Didn’t I,” out now via Warner Records.

The addictive track opens with soft banjo plucks and tells the tale of a woman who finds herself trapped in a tumultuous relationship. Despite many attempts to call things off, she keeps returning to her ex.

Throughout the lyrics, she questions, “Didn’t I swear you were dead to me? Didn’t you scream that I had to leave? Didn’t I slam your damn front door Sayin’, ‘I ain’t never gonna come back no more’?”

Despite repeated conflict, the couple continues to find themselves back together, repeating the cycle time and time again.

“We’re backsliders, bad liars/ Wakin’ up half-drunk, still tired/ Settin’ everything we said on fire,” she admits.

Dasha, who co-wrote the “Didn’t I” with Ben Johnson and Emily Weisband, shares, “’Didn’t I’ is so nostalgic, there’s something about my past that intrigues me, including the men. In the writer’s room, I was referring to a time months and months ago when I was backsliding into the guy that ‘Austin’ is about. It’s admitting like, ‘Oops here I am again, my bad’ but I love how we made it lighthearted and fun.”

The rising star paired the release with a music video, bringing the song to life at a drive-in movie theater. Check it out below.
