Dasha turned heads with her Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade performance on Thursday after suffering a makeup mishap during the show. She later addressed the viral videos on social media.

The rising star appeared in the Big Apple to take part in the long-standing Thanksgiving Day tradition, performing her breakout hit, “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’),” on the Big City Cheer! Float by Spirit of America Productions during the NBC broadcast.

This year’s parade faced poor weather conditions, leaving the star-studded list of performers to brace the cold and rain for the show.

Despite the inclement weather conditions, Dasha powered through with her performance of her hit song, but unfortunately, the wet weather and the mic had her red lipstick smearing around her face. By the end of her performance, the 24 year old had red stains across her mouth and chin.

Viewers were quick to comment on the lipstick malfunction on social media, with many taking to X and TikTok to point out the mishap.

One user wrote, “Still laughing about this singer Dasha at the Thanksgiving parade mashing the microphone into her mouth so much that it completely destroyed her lipstick.”

Another shared, “dasha’s lipstick being smeared across her chin oh no.”

As videos of the performance continued to be shared on TikTok, Dasha made light of the moment, taking to the platform to react to the beauty slip-up.

“Today i learned a lesson about performing in the rain,” she wrote alongside of a greenscreen video of her performance.

The comments section was filled with words of encouragement. Some fans told her she “still slayed” while others promised they “didn’t even notice” while they were watching.

Dasha’s performance also found some viewers comparing her to Taylor Swift. One TikTok user commented, “My husband and kids thought you were Taylor swift so I say winning!”

The 98th Macy’s Parade lineup also featured Dan + Shay, Walker Hayes, The War and Treaty, and many others.

Dasha’s Thanksgiving Day Parade performance comes on the heels of a wildly successful year for the breakout artist. She released her debut country album, What Happens Now? In February. She made her Opry debut in June, earning a standing ovation with her two-song performance.

“Austin (Boots Stop Workin’)” received RIAA platinum certification in the United States and platinum/gold in seventeen countries around the globe and recently took home the People’s Choice Country Award for Female Song of 2024.

Her latest release, “Heartbreaker From Tennessee,” is out now. Upon the release of the song, Dasha shared a handwritten note with fans reflecting on her rollercoaster of a year.

Hi guys! I get butterflies just thinking about this past year. It went by so quick, I feel like I blinked and then it was over. It still doesn’t even feel real. I’ve been dreaming about this shit since I was a little kid and it truly blows my mind that this is my life now. I’ve felt my highest highs ever that then got matched with my lowest, darkest times during all the madness. It’s crazy to have your wildest dreams coming true while getting so much hate and judgment spit at you from people you’ve never met. I won’t lie, the non-stop work schedule, running on fumes and caffeine, while still expected to be on was hard. It is hard. I got the darkest mentally I’ve ever been but stepping on stage and seeing all of your beautiful faces across the world this past summer and fall and hearing you scream the words to my songs recharged every battery in me. You make it so worth it, all the tears and anxiety, all nighters, every hard conversation that this damn song has brought me and my team in the past year…so worth it. You made it so worth it. My fans, my followers, my friends, I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am that you’re here on this journey with me. Still pinching myself that this is my life. To my fans: enjoy this small token of appreciation and know how much I love you.

In 2025, Dasha will hit the road with Kane Brown and Thomas Rhett.
