Dolly Parton is getting fans into the Christmas spirit a bit early this year with the upcoming release of A Holly Dolly Christmas, her first holiday album in 30 years.
Ahead of the project’s October 2 release, the worldwide superstar shared her beautiful take on the iconic faith-filled track, “Mary, Did You Know?”
“‘Mary, Did You Know?’ is one of the greatest, sweetest, well-written songs that I’ve ever had the chance to sing on,” says Dolly. “When I was recording it, I got very emotional. It is to me what Christmas is about and I’m proud to be able to sing it for my upcoming album.”

Parton enlisted a star-studded group of artists to join her on A Holly Dolly Christmas, including her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus, as well as Billy Ray Cyrus, Michael Bublé, Willie Nelson and Jimmy Fallon.
Her brother, Randy Parton, will also join her on the project.
“I thought, ‘I think I’ll call it A Holly Dolly Christmas because I love the song “A Holly Jolly Christmas” with Burl Ives. He used to be on all of my Christmas specials all through the years. I think of him as Mr. Christmas. I thought, ‘Why don’t do I call it something cute and clever, like that or Deck the Halls with Boughs of Dolly, something corny like that,’” Parton previously shared with Billboard.
