It’s no secret that Dolly Parton’s talented vocals and iconic style have made her a star. She typically sports big hair, and dazzling ensembles that hug her figure, but during an interview with CMT, she revealed that her stunning hairstyle isn’t just for looks, it’s also functional.
She finally revealed the truth behind how she’s able to hide her microphone pack so well on stage without it interfering with her outfit.
“My wig cap has a little pocket on it in the back because my clothes are so tight my mic pack don’t fit nowhere,” Parton explained. “There’s only room for me in my clothes.”
“So I have it to where the mic fits in my hair,” she continued. “’Cause I wear wigs all the time, and so it goes right over it and we just kind of mic it around and it works perfect.”
Fans quickly took to the comment section to commend the “9 To 5” singer on her clever tactics and honesty.
Parton has always been known to put others before herself and truly make an effort to connect with her fans. Recently, she found a new way to do that when she joined the pool of talented creators on the social media platform, TikTok.
She took to Twitter to announce the news saying, “Better late than never.”
Since making her highly-anticipated appearance on the app, the hashtag “Dolly” has gained over 5 billion views and her number of followers continues to rise at a rapid pace. Plus, the country star has already earned plenty of exciting comments on her videos, giving her a warm welcome to the community.
While she may not have had a profile on the platform until now, fans have still taken it upon themselves to show their love and support by continually circulating her music and legendary career. In addition to “9 to 5,” several of Parton’s fan favorites like “Jolene” and her chart-topping duet with the late, great Kenny Rogers, “Islands In The Stream,” have each been used on thousands of video creations.
Her most recent post on the app includes a dazzling clip of her and fellow singer/songwriter Miley Cyrus as they reveal their roles as co-hosts for the upcoming “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party.”
Parton’s caption read, “I hope you’re ready to ring in 2023 with us! 19 days to go until @Miley Cyrus’ New Year’s Eve Party 🎉 Tune in 12/31 at 10:30 ET on @NBC.”
This will mark the second iteration of this star-studded event on NBC, after it saw great success in 2021. Last year’s special, which was co-hosted by Cyrus and Pete Davidson, was considered to be the No. 1 most social entertainment special across all of TV in 2021 (excluding awards).
The celebration is said to feature an A-list lineup of musical performances and special guests, which have yet to be unveiled. It will air live on NBC from Miami on Saturday, Dec. 31 from 10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. ET and will also stream live on Peacock.
