Country icon Dolly Parton surprised fans with the release of a brand new song on Friday (Jan. 14).

Out now, “Big Dreams and Faded Jeans” is a track from her upcoming collection of songs, which will serve as the companion album to her novel, Run, Rose, Run.

Penned solely by Parton, “Big Dreams and Faded Jeans” finds the world-renowned superstar singing about a young woman who bravely packs her bags to pursue her dreams in Music City.

“Big dreams and faded jeans / Fit together like a team / Always busting at the seams / Big dreams and faded jeans / Just my ol’ guitar and me / Out to find my destiny / Nashville is the place to be / For big dreams and faded jeans,” Parton sings on the chorus.

In true Dolly Parton form, the East Tennessee native hopes to inspire others with the track.

“So many people come to Nashville with their sack of songs,” Parton shared. “Whether they’re running from anything or not, they’re running towards a future. That’s what ‘Big Dreams and Faded Jeans’ is all about. I am so pleased to finally share the first song from this exciting new album with all of you!”

The album, is set to drop just days before the novel’s release on March 4 via Butterfly Records in partnership with Ingrooves/UMG. The project includes 12-tracks co-produced by Parton alongside Richard Dennison and Tom Rutledge.

Run, Rose, Run (the album) will be available on all digital streaming platforms, and for digital download, as well as in CD, standard vinyl and some special vinyl color variant.

The Run, Rose, Run album mirrors the story of a young woman who leaves home for Nashville, Tennessee to pursue her music-making dreams and the dark secret from her past that threatens it all. The project provides an even deeper and more relatable sense of the novel – giving the audience an all-encompassing experience on and off the page.
