Dylan Scott and Jimmie Allen Join Forces For Powerful New Collaboration, ‘In Our Blood’

Chart-topping country singer Dylan Scott recently teamed up with Grammy-nominated artist Jimmie Allen to release a powerful new collaboration, “In Our Blood.” 

Throughout the moving track, the artists point out how we’re all more alike than different and share a message of unity. 

“No matter where you’re from, we got a lot in common. We all bleed red, we all want to love, [and] we all want to be successful. That’s what I love about this song. It’s a beautiful song,” Allen shares in the Instagram clip below.

“Stronger than the Mississippi, thicker than water/ Runnin’ through the veins of the sons and daughters/ Passed down from our mothers and fathers’ blood/ Yeah, sins got washed by the Man on the cross with it/ Wars got fought, got won, got lost with it/ We are who we are, and we are because/ It’s in our blood,” they sing on the chorus. 

“In Our Blood” was penned by David Fanning, Brad Rempel, and Matt McGinn and produced by Will Weatherly and Matt Alderman.

In addition to the release of the single, Scott and Allen filmed a music video for “In Our Blood.” The video shows the pair singing in a field of tall grass and shows a glimpse into the lives of everyday citizens around the city as they all come together. 

“In Our Blood” gives fans a glimpse into Scott’s upcoming 16-song record, Livin’ My Best Life. The Louisiana native will remain true to his roots with songs pertaining to relationships, backroads, and church pews.

Dylan Scott recently wrapped the spring leg of the “Livin’ My Best Life Tour,” with support from country up-and-comer Dylan Marlowe. Visiting 22 cities from coast-to-coast, Scott played hits from his catalog as well as new songs fans haven’t heard yet. Scott will be continuing the tour this summer.
