Russell Dickerson is ready to show fans exactly where he came from and who he’s become with his fourth studio album, FAMOUS BACK HOME. In a new announcement, the viral country act revealed that the brand-new project will arrive August 22 via Triple Tigers. Keep reading to find out everything we know about the album so far.
Co-produced by Dickerson and longtime collaborator Josh Kerr, plus Casey Brown and Chris LaCorte on select songs, the album offers 10 songs co-written by Dickerson, along with the first two outside cuts of his career.

Throughout each of the 12 tracks, Dickerson digs deeper than ever before, revealing a version of himself that’s confident, creatively free, and rooted in the things that matter most. He’s expected to capture his growth as an artist, a storyteller and a hitmaker, along with the journey of his personal life, which involves becoming a husband, father, and proud hometown hero. These songs prove that Russell Dickerson is not just famous on stage—but he’s Famous Back Home, too.
“Growing up in a small town, I had this idea ‘I’m going to make it out of here. I’m going to make it big. Everybody is going to know my name,’” said Dickerson. “But then you have a family and it’s like, ‘Actually, all I want to do is be famous at home.’ The further down this road I get, the more I realize the only thing that matters is my family.”
The project includes fan favorites like the already-released Top 40 track, “Bones,” and Dickerson’s song of the summer, “Happen To Me,” which scored the biggest streaming debut of his career.
Newest Release – “Heard It In A Country Song”
Also featured is his latest release, “Heard It In A Country Song,” a swagger-filled, throwback anthem that tips its hat to themes found in ‘90s country songs like barbecue stains, grape snow cones, and watermelon crawl. As he pays tribute to the classics, Dickerson uses his signature energy to follow in the same mission of reflecting on love, celebrating small-town pride and highlighting life’s simple pleasures. The tune was co-written by Dickerson, Chase McGill, Chris LaCorte, and Parker Welling.
Other standouts are said to include “Dust,” a nod to David Lee Murphy’s “Dust on the Bottle,” “Sunrise In My Silverado,” “Never Leave” (featuring Vince Gill), “Sippin On Top of the World” and more. Whether he’s reflecting on growing up in “16 Me,” dancing through love and loss in “Love That I Love You,” or turning up the charm on “Worth Your Wild,” Dickerson is highlighting every side of his life and artistry.
“I’m so pumped on this one. It’s just song by song,” Dickerson says. “To go from ‘Yours’ to where we are now, it’s opened up a whole new facet of me and my personality. What you get on stage is so connected to these songs – it finally caught up to my personality, who I am.”
