Where would we be with our biggest supporters? What would we do without the women who were there for us from the start? Who would we be without our amazing moms?

Family is such an important part of life, especially in within the country music community. That includes all the strong moms out there who have given us the chance to reach for our dreams and there’s no better way to show them love than through a song that explains exactly how your feel. Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alaina and Taylor Swift are among the many artists who have incorporated their mothers into their music, to thank them for all they have done.

In celebration of Mother’s Day, here are eight country music videos that include cameos from the moms that brought us these superstars:

Tim McGraw’s “I Called Mama”

YouTube video

Tim McGraw’s music video starts off with a heartwarming clip of a mom and her daughter, who get a surprise call from the country star.  The video continues with footage and images filled with memories of moms everywhere, that will both bring a tear to your eye and warm your heart. Since this music video was released in 2020, there are also some clips of loved ones exchanging “hellos” from a distance. Of course, McGraw featured his own mom, Betty Trimble, and wife, Faith Hill, in the video that is a tribute to all the incredible mothers out there.

Carrie Underwood’s “Mama’s Song”

YouTube video

This tear-jerking music video for Carrie Underwood’s “Mama’s Song’ is a look into what it’s like to leave a mother’s care after marriage. This is a personal video for Underwood, who incorporated real images of her growing up alongside her mom. In the end, her mom receives a scrapbook that contains these images along with a note addressed to her from Underwood. This is her way of saying a final goodbye before leaving for the honeymoon. Now a mother herself, this video shows what’s in store for Underwood’s future as well.

Lauren Alaina’s “Like My Mother Does”

YouTube video

Right from the title, it’s clear that Lauren Alaina’s “Like My Mother Does” was going to be a message to the special woman in her life, her mom. Alaina’s debut video shows home videos and photos that give a look into what her childhood was like. From this footage, it seems clear the Alaina and her mom had a close bond and still do as we see in the end. The music video concludes with Alaina and her mom embracing each other as personal home videos cast over them.

Alan Jackson’s “Where Her Heart Has Always Been”

YouTube video

Alan Jackson pays homage to his late mother, Ruth, with “Where Her Heart Has Always Been.”  The touching song features a recording of Mama Ruth reading from The Bible and was written by Jackson for her funeral. The lyric video showcases personal photos from the Jackson family.

Taylor Swift’s “The Best Day”

YouTube video

A lyric video can’t get much more intimate and touching than Taylor Swift’s for her single, “The Best Day.”  Swift included images filled with memories of her and her mom as they grow older and battle life’s struggles together. The international superstar also incorporated home videos that matches some of the lyrics, such as the “video I found from back when I was three/ You set up a paint set in the kitchen and you’re talking to me.” The last clip shown is a more current photo of Swift and her mom, as the two get close for a selfie.

In 2020, Reba McEntire lost her mom tragically to cancer. In a tribute to her beloved mom, McEntire released this music video to go along with her emotional song, “You Never Gave Up On Me.” Starting off, McEntire is seen giving a speech after winning an award, which she dedicated to her mom, who always stuck by her in support of her dreams. The video continues with a beautiful montage of black and white photos of McEntire and her mom throughout the years. This video represents the incredible mother daughter relationship these two had.

Just days before Mother’s Day 2021, Chris Lane released a touching tribute to his mother with the emotional song, “That’s What Mamas Are For.” The track is an autobiographical tune that was inspired by Lane’s mother. The song was released with a video showcasing the mother/son dance at Lane’s wedding.

Luke Bryan’s “One Margarita”

The official music video for this fun, upbeat summer anthem by Luke Bryan features his wife, Caroline and his mom, LeClaire, in the best way.
