Ella Langley has released the music video for her latest single, “You Look Like You Love Me,” featuring Riley Green and it does not disappoint!
Set in a dusty old western town, the video features Langley and Green as well as a special appearance by country hitmaker Jamey Johnson.
The video opens with Riley Green stepping into a classic Western establishment, his eyes immediately drawn to Langley, who is performing on stage. From the moment he spots her, Green is captivated, unable to take his eyes off her. The chemistry between the two is clear, setting the tone for the rest of the clip.
Viewers then see a wanted poster featuring Green’s face hanging on the wall, hinting that there is more to the story than they know.
Just before the chorus kicks in, Langley makes her way over to Green. They meet in the middle of the room, and without missing a beat, they begin to dance. The scene is straight out of an old Western film.
As they spin each other around on the dance floor, a patron in the bar notices Green and, realizes he’s the man on the wanted poster. He rushes out to alert the sheriff, who is played by Jamey Johnson.
With a pistol in hand, Johnson strides into the bar ready for anything. Surprisingly, Langley and Green remain unfazed, and continue to dance as if nothing happened. Johnson takes a turn dancing with Langley and as the clip comes to a close, Langley and Green ride off together on horseback, leaving the sheriff, and the old Western town, behind.
Fans may also notice another special guest in the clip – Riley Green’s beloved dog, Carl!
The newly released music video, co-written and directed by Ella Langley, Wales Toney, and JP Park of Whale Tale Media, perfectly complements the song’s barroom romance theme. “You Look Like You Love Me” is a classic country story song that paints a vivid picture of a one-night love affair as it unfolds.
Langley’s twangy vocals deliver the first verse, which finds her recalling the time when she was just 22 years old and ran into a good-looking man while in the bar.
“I walked right up/ And I pulled him to the side/ I handed that man a beer/ Looked him in the eyes/ And I said, ‘Baby, I think you’re gonna wanna hear this.’ Then I told him…Excuse me, you look like you love me/ You look like you want me to want you to come on home/ Baby, I don’t blame you/ For looking me up and down across this room/ I’m drunk and I’m ready to leave/ And you look like you love me.”
Green’s verse tells his side of the story, starting with the moment she catches his eye in the bar.
“Well I was down at the local beer joint/ With a few of the guys/ When this cute little country girl caught my eye/ And boy let me tell you, she was the prettiest thing I’d ever seen in a pair of boots/ Well she walked right up to me/ Handed me a beer/ Gave me a look like, ‘let’s get out of here’/ That’s when I realized that she was every cowboy’s dream come true…”
“You Look Like You Love Me” was an instant fan-favorite and is currently climbing the charts at country radio where it is now the 10th most-consumed song. Rapidly becoming Ella’s most-streamed track to date with over 112 million streams, the song also climbed into the Top 15 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and marked both Ella’s and Riley’s highest debut on the Billboard Hot 100. “You Look Like You Love Me” has also taken off on social media, nearing 1 million posts created using the song, and securing the No. 5 spot on Billboard’s TikTok Top 50 chart.
The track is featured on Ella Langley’s debut album, hungover, which is available now.
