The Tour Launches In Support Of Elle King’s New Summertime Anthem
The Baby Daddy’s Weekend Tour got its namesake from the multi-genre chart-topping artist’s newest summertime anthem. King lets her most authentic self shine in “Baby Daddy’s Weekend,” an irresistible track that details the rowdy weekend that’s about to unfold when a child is left in the care of their father and mom gets her chance to hit the town.
Elle King serves as a co-writer alongside her friend Pillbox Patti as well as a co-producer with Dave Cohen. The song offers self-confidence and true swagger as King speaks up for all the parents out there who deserve to have a break and tape into their wild sides for a few days.
“I’ve been lucky enough to have lived, loved, and partied with the best of them. I’ve written songs for every era of my good times. My new song is for the people who deserve a good summer,” she shared of her intentions behind the tune. “It’s for people who need a break from their kids but miss them when they aren’t around. It’s for the people working two jobs, the people who never get to put themselves first! It’s a song for all the people who make this world go round. Life isn’t always fun and games, but when it is, it’s my ‘Baby Daddy’s Weekend.’”
In a way, this song reflects elements of King’s personal life as she is a mom to her two-year-old son, Lucky Levi, whom she raises with her “baby daddy,” Daniel Tooker.
“Baby Daddy’s Weekend” follows the release of Elle King’s third studio album, Come Get Your Wife, which has spawned fan favorites like “Try Jesus,” “Worth A Shot” featuring Dierks Bentley, the No. 1 smash hit “Drunk (And I Don’t Want To Go Home)” with Miranda Lambert and more.
