Luke Bryan releases the official music video for his heart-pounding single, “Love You, Miss You, Mean It.” The video directed by award-winning director Dustin Haney made its broadcast premiere on CMT and the Paramount Times Square Billboard on Thursday morning (June 27).

The love story behind the song is played out by a young couple trying to maintain their strong bond while also experiencing a major life shift that results in them slowly drifting apart. In the opening scene, the couple is seen sharing a moment inside a truck on a rainy night and looking as happy as can be. However, things change in the next set of clips when the woman is packing up her room and playing phone tag with her other half.

Despite being busy in their separate lives, it’s clear that they are still on each other’s minds. So on another stormy night, that phone lights up and before they know it, their flame has rekindled and the love is stronger than ever.

The five-time Entertainer of the Year pours his own emotions into the song’s tender narrative through performance clips shot under a set of dim lights of a parking lot set in Los Angeles, when Bryan was on the West Coast filming for American Idol. He can closely relate to the story at hand as he experienced the same rollercoaster of emotions back in the day with his now wife, Caroline.

“This song was special from the first time I heard it,” said Bryan. “I knew it would resonate. It’s about young love and that whole process of trying to make relationships work through the on again and off again cycles. My wife and I went through that journey during college and I know a lot of people out there have too.”

Written by Rhett Akins, Ben Hayslip, Jordan Minton and Jacob Rice, “Love You, Miss You, Mean It,” is currently sitting in the Top 25 on the charts. The song offers a preview of Bryan’s forthcoming new project.
