Country Now Artist To Watch, Emily Ann Roberts has been tapped to serve as the opening act on the second leg of Blake Shelton’s Back To The Honky Tonk Tour. In preparation for the upcoming trek, the rising country star shared her top five essentials for the road with us.
Starting off strong, Roberts declares that her top priority is snacks because “you can’t be hungry.” The remainder of the items on her list all had to do with fashion and makeup so that she’s guaranteed to be looking fresh and glamorous all night long.
Number two was eyelash glue – “You can’t go out on stage without eyelash glue,” she shared before adding that it’s also important for her to add a bit of “glow” to her look. With that being said, the third item on her list is specifically the Lumi Glotion by the brand Loreal.
“You also have to have a weave. Fake hair, I learned it from Dolly [Parton]. You can’t go on stage without it,” she said of her fourth item while standing on the hot pink carpet of the first-ever Dolly Parton’s Pet Gala.
Last but not least, Roberts revealed that she opts to bring a bit of her Knoxville, TN roots on stage with her in the form of a “good old pair of cowboy boots.”
“That’s where I feel right at home and the most comfortable on stage,” she added.
‘The Voice’ Alums Will Reunite Soon
Presented by Kubota, Blake Shelton’s 17-date tour is set to kick off on February 22, 2024 in Hershey, PA. Multi-platinum country star Dustin Lynch will also join the trek as a special guest. These stars will make their way throughout the United States and Canada before wrapping up in Wichita, KS on March 29.
This will mark a sentimental reunion for Roberts and Blake as the young female artist first connected with the award-winning country star when she competed on his team throughout Season 9 of NBC’s The Voice. Her talent took her all the way to the finals where she earned the runner-up title.
“Emily Ann was on season 9 of The Voice in 2015. We were both so young,” Shelton shared as he reflected on their time working together. “She has such a pure country voice and I’m so damn proud to have her on the Back To The Honky Tonk Tour next year. She’s a perfect fit!”
A Full-Circle Moment
Roberts added to Shelton’s statement, expressing just as much excitement over this “full circle moment.”
“It feels like such a full circle moment to be able to open for Blake Shelton. He has been such a supporter of me through the years. I am so thankful for this opportunity and can’t wait for the tour to start,” she shared via release.
The news of the “He Set Her Off” singer’s upcoming gig follows the September release of her debut album, Can’t Hide Country. Since its debut, the project has received over 12 million streams and has garnered widespread critical acclaim.
Emily Ann Roberts Unveils Acoustic Collection
Roberts proceeded to give the project even more recognition when she dropped acoustic renditions of five of the tracks, creating a cozy listening experience dubbed the Can’t Hide Country Cabin Sessions EP. This new collection includes her cover of the timeless classic “How Do I Live,” originally made famous by Trisha Yearwood and LeAnn Rimes. Roberts first shared the cover to TikTok and received so much praise from fans, she was eventually persuaded to record her own version.
“I love making my own music, but I’m still such a country music fan at heart. I’m so glad I had so many incredible female vocalists to look up to in this genre. I’ve always been so inspired by the melody and emotion in ‘How Do I Live’ and I loved the opportunity to put my own spin on it. After marrying my high school sweetheart, I can’t imagine my life without him. The words of this song really resonate with me,” she shared.
“Can’t Hide Country Cabin Sessions” Track List:
1. Whole Lotta Little (Emily Ann Roberts / Trent Willmon / Jeremy Spillman)
2. Chickens (Emily Ann Roberts / Trent Willmon / Paul Overstreet)
3. Out Of Sight (Emily Ann Roberts / Jerry Salley / Mike Rogers)
4. Walkin’ Shoes (Emily Ann Roberts / Chris Utley / Nicole Croteau / Kaylin Roberson)
