Emerging singer/songwriter and Play It Again Entertainment’s flagship artist Walker Montgomery won’t officially drop his new song, “She Don’t Know,” until Friday (Jan. 29). But he is giving listeners a chance to hear it one day early in this Country Now exclusive premiere.
Written by Dallas Davidson, Kyle Fishman and Michael Ray, the romantic track features Montgomery singing the role of a man who feels both grateful and lucky to be in a relationship with someone that he considers to be very special. Backed by guitar, piano, and a light drum beat, the singer swoons over his love interest’s striking smile, natural beauty, and modest attitude, making it known that he thinks she’s out of his league.

“She don’t know I lay beside her late at night / And wonder why she’d settle for a guy like me / That I can’t live without her dreamed about her / Way before I ever found her / Made a better man outta me,” the Kentucky native croons the lyrics throughout the energetic chorus before describing his significant other as someone who is unaware of her own beauty.“Oh she don’t know she’s perfect / All her love I don’t deserve it / She could have any heart she wants to hold / Oh but she don’t know.”
Montgomery, the son of ‘90s country icon John Michael Montgomery and the nephew of Montgomery Gentry’s Eddie Montgomery, opened up about his new single with Country Now, saying, “When I first heard the demo for “She Don’t Know,” I knew it was a song I had to record. I love the positive message of making sure the people you care about know how you feel. I think people really need to hear a song like that right now.”
“She Don’t Know,” which becomes available just in time for Valentine’s Day, follows Montgomery’s recent uptempo, feel-good single, “Bad Day to Be a Beer,” penned by Davidson, Brock Berryhill, Ray Fulcher and Cole Taylor. Both songs offer fans the first taste of new music from Montgomery since the beginning of 2021.
