Surprise – Frankie Ballard is going to be a dad!
The singer/songwriter and his wife of two years, Chrissy, are expecting their first child, People confirms.
“It’s been fun keeping this secret, but too hard to contain our excitement now,” Ballard shared with the publication. “Chrissy and I started praying on when the time would be right to start a family, and we both felt God nudging us last spring.”
Ballard is thrilled to be a dad and admits to experiencing the “most unique feeling” when he first learned Chrissy was pregnant. “I can only describe it as a combination of emotion and words. Shock-tacular, grateful, awe,” he said.
Baby Ballard is due in February and the couple plans to keep his/her gender under wraps until then.
“One of the hardest decisions was, ‘Should we find out the sex?’ ” they confessed. “But when else can you be truly surprised in this life anymore? The mystery is still intact. February is right around the corner, and we are so eager to meet this precious little gift.”
The soon-to-be-parents plan to enjoy a date night at the upcoming CMA Awards. “We’re thrilled to bring a baby on the CMAs red carpet with no stroller, extra bags or a fancy diaper. I think we best enjoy it while we can,” Chrissy shared.
Frankie and Chrissy first met in 2013 when she was cast in his “Helluva Life” music video. They began dating soon after and eventually wed in the spring of 2017.
