American Idol alums Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehner are married!
The couple exchanged vows in front of 100 guests in Garrison, Texas on Saturday (Oct. 5), People confirms.
After getting engaged in March, Barrett and Foehner wasted no time saying “I do.” They chose to celebrate with the ones closest to them, rather than have a massive wedding.
“We wanted a small, intimate wedding with close friends and family,” Barrett shared with the publication prior to the couple’s big day. “We can’t wait to have everyone we love under one roof to help send us off into this new season.”
Barrett, 19, is a native of Pennsylvania, and Foehner, 23, is a native of Texas. However, they chose to get married in the Lone Star State because of their mutual love for the area.
“I spent a lot of time [in Texas] this summer with his family — it’s a great place to get off the grid and relax,” Barrett explained. “The venue is in a neat little private area down some dirt roads, which totally fits our style.”
The couple brought their rustic wedding theme to life with plum and blush décor and through the venue’s woodsy setting. Joining Barrett and Foehner on their big day were fellow Idol contestants Caleb Lee Hutchinson, who served as a groomsman, and Catie Turner.
“We’re both excited to make such a serious and holy commitment before the Lord, with our friends and family there to support us and celebrate,” Barrett said. “Becoming one family has been the thing we’ve looked forward to most.”
After exchanging vows, the newlyweds treated guests to Mexican and American cuisine and “lots of cake.” The reception was a “laid-back” affair and that’s exactly the way the bride wanted it to be.
“We wanted to keep it more about the ceremony and the commitment together before God rather than the party,” she shared.
The newlyweds told People they plan to celebrate their nuptials with a beachside honeymoon.
“We wanted to go somewhere with really clear water and white sand,” Barrett said.
