Country singer/songwriters Gabby Barrett and her husband Cade Foehner are officially a family of four.
The couple welcomed their son Augustine Boone Foehner into the world on Wednesday (Nov. 2), sharing the news through a social media post that showcases the new siblings bonding.
“Soaking up the newborn days with baby brother. What a precious gift from our Lord!” Barrett wrote on Instagram.
They first announced that they would be adding another family member on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8, via social media alongside a photo of an ultrasound.
“My son. Another LIFE we get to love and cherish. Happy Mothers Day,” Barrett said.
Foehner also revealed the exciting news with a heartfelt post.
“Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing, strong, and fruitful Bride! @gabbybarrett_” Foehner wrote. ”She is currently carrying another precious life made in the image of God. A son to bear our name into the next generation. Our children will rise up and call her blessed, this husband also, praises her. Proverbs 31:28 ‘Praise God from whom all blessings flow!’”
This is the couple’s second child, following the birth of their 1-year-old daughter, Baylah May, in January of 2021. Barrett said their little one has been excitedly awaiting the moment that her big sister duties finally begin.
“She’s very sweet about her babies and baby dolls already. She puts them to sleep all the time, she’ll hold them like she’s putting them to sleep. It is the sweetest thing,” she shared. “Give them their pacifier, and she does give my belly kisses and stuff. I don’t think she understands there’s a baby in the belly, but she’s very sweet about it.”
Barrett, who was on tour with Jason Aldean earlier this summer, cut her time on the road short to take things easy ahead of the arrival of her second child with her husband, Cade Foehner.
Over the summer, the 22-year-old shared a pregnancy update and revealed that performing was becoming increasingly difficult for her.
“I love performing. It is getting difficult though. What people don’t really see is there is alooooooottt of sitting around all day before the show… Which makes everyone groggy,” Barrett wrote on Instagram. ”I struggle with very low blood pressure almost everyday in this pregnancy which makes it hard to have energy to perform.”
In September, the couple enjoyed some time to themselves on a babymoon when they visited Atlantis, Paradise Island.
“Took a little trip to the Bahamas What a beautiful place! Clearest water I’ve ever seen, and some of the kindest people, “ she wrote alongside a photo of herself with Foehner. “We definitely got crispy out in the sun.. But headed home with full hearts & praising God for beautiful creation we get to witness everyday.”
The “I Hope” singer and Foehner met in 2018 when they both appeared on Season 16 of American Idol. Their relationship continued to flourish and Foehner proposed in March of 2019.
Following a short engagement, the pair tied the knot on October 5, 2019 during a small wedding in Garrison, Texas.
Although motherhood is at the forefront of her priorities right now, Barrett also recently gave fans a teaser of her next project via social media earlier this week.
“Album #2 at work.. ,” she wrote alongside an audio clip that featured a melody with fiddle and light percussion.
Gabby Barrett’s next performance is currently set for Dec. 17 in Nacogdoches, TX.
