Gabby Barrett is on top of the world right now.

The 20-year-old is preparing to welcome her first child “any day now” as her debut single, “I Hope,” reaches new platinum status.

Earlier this week, the angsty breakup anthem was certified 4x platinum by the RIAA, signifying sales of 4 million units (equal to one paid download or 150 streams).

“I’m still blown away,” Barrett recently told People about the success of “I Hope.” “I’m so thankful for having so much time off this year to really let it soak in. Being presented with my plaque for ‘I Hope’ was really an indescribable feeling.”

“I just remember being young and always seeing plaques of artists that I really looked up to on the walls of different places, hoping I could have at least one of those someday,” she added. “I’m dreaming with my eyes open as they’re hanging up on my wall. Hopefully, I’ll be able to collect some more in the future.”

Barrett and her husband, fellow American Idol alum Cade Foehner, will soon welcome a baby girl. According to Instagram, the couple celebrated their final night out as a party of two on Thursday (Jan. 14). Barrett, who is due by the end of the month, is more than ready to meet her daughter, especially now that her pregnancy is proving to make simple daily activities a bit more difficult.

“I can’t do normal things that I want to do. I get so tired so quickly,” she explained to People. “I want to clean the house and make sure everything’s so clean, but it’s so hard to bend down and it’s hard to roll over when you sleep.”

Thankfully, Foehner is by her side to help make her more comfortable. Barrett said he’s been very “understanding” during her pregnancy and couldn’t help but praise him for being a great dad-to-be.

“He’s just been very nice. He rubs my feet every single night. He’s been extra, extra thoughtful,” she shared.

Barrett and Foehner are ready to take on this new life phase and even add some more kids into the mix within a few years.

“We’re ready to add on to our family and get some babies in there,” she said. “I definitely want to have more than one in the future, for sure.”

For now, Barrett is focusing on her new role as it’s something she’s looked forward to for quite some time.

“I always wanted to be a mom. It was something that was always ingrained in me from a very young age. I remember being in high school and I would always pray about my future spouse and my future kids. I just can’t wait to see what she looks like. It’s insane to me that we are literally right around the corner from this; that she’s coming very soon.”

Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehner met on the set of American Idol and got engaged in March of 2019. They said “I do” just a few months later, tying the knot on October 5, 2019 in front of 100 guests in Texas. Foehner inspired several tracks on Barrett’s debut album, including her new single, “The Good Ones.”

Last August, the couple revealed that they were expecting their first child, a baby girl. Gabby is due in late January.
