Sometimes the best gifts are things money cannot buy and that certainly rings true for Gwen Stefani and the one-in-a-lifetime surprise she received from Blake Shelton on their wedding day.
In lieu of traditional wedding vows, Shelton opted to write a song for his bride. He called upon his longtime friend and collaborator, Craig Wiseman to help and before they knew it, the song “We Can Reach The Stars” was born.
Shelton surprised Stefani with the heartfelt song on the wedding day and was brought to tears when he sang it to her during their wedding ceremony.

Now, “We Can Reach The Stars” is available to all to hear and Stefani can’t contain her excitement over the track. Upon its release she took to social media to share her feelings about the emotional song, calling it the “most amazing beautiful gift I ever received.”
Gwen Stefani later shared the song and wrote, “yep.. this happened to me 🙏🏻” alongside the hashtag “my song.”
“Gwen and I decided we were going to write our own vows for the wedding, but I decided to surprise her by writing a song instead,” Shelton shared in a statement. “I reached out to my buddy Craig Wiseman, who is a world-class songwriter, to help me write and structure something that would stand the test of time. I’m really proud of ‘We Can Reach The Stars’ and I’m really honored to be with her. That’s why we got married in the first place. That’s why we wear rings… because we want everyone to know. I’m thrilled to share this song with the world.”
During an interview with Storme Warren on The Storme Warren Show on SiriusXM’s The Highway, Shelton previously detailed his decision to write a song for his wedding vows.
“I had written a song. And as soon as I knew that that’s what we were going to do. I started trying to write a song because that’s kind of the opposite of what she would have expected me to do,” Shelton explained to Warren.
He went on to share that he doesn’t “write that many songs anymore” because “it’s like pulling teeth” but said that he decided to try to write a song for Gwen because it’s something she wouldn’t have expected.
“We Can Reach The Stars” is featured on Body Language Deluxe, which will drop December 3.
Also included on the project is Shelton’s new single, “Come Back As A Country Boy.”
