Gypsy Rose Blanchard uses Eric Church’s sentimental tune about young parenthood, “Two Pink Lines,” to announce that she is pregnant with her first child.

On Tuesday, July 9, the 32-year-old, who inspired the Lifetime series, Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup, shared the news through an Instagram post featuring joyful images from a pregnancy photoshoot with her and her boyfriend, Ken Urker, 31.

The pair look as happy as can be holding up their ultrasound images as Church’s vocals can be heard in the background, illustrating the story of a couple who are experiencing an unexpected pregnancy, much like Blanchard and Urker.

“We are proud to announce we are expecting our first child in January 2025💗,” her caption read.

Gypsy Rose’s Relationship Timeline

Gypsy Rose spent eight years in prison as a result of her role in the 2015 murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. Since her release in December of 2023, she has been making an effort to live life to the fullest and finally experience life outside prison. So far, her new, very public journey has involved reconnecting with family members, navigating her romantic relationships and now, starting her own family.

During her time incarcerated, she became pen pals with Urker and they eventually formed a relationship. He proposed in 2018, but they parted ways before ever saying “I Do.” Despite this failed engagement, Blanchard did tie the knot with her now ex, Ryan Anderson in 2022. Three months after being released from prison, the pair announced their split.

Blanchard previously told PEOPLE that when things started to fall apart with Anderson, she turned to Urker and ended up rekindling the flame. “It wasn’t until I knew that my marriage was over that I was like, ‘I would like to see you and let’s hang out because we never got to hang out before when I was in prison’,” she said.

“I would say that Ken is my first love because that’s when I honestly felt like a mature love. It wasn’t based off of a fantasy. It was actually based on a connection that two people have for each other,” added Blanchard.

Opening Up About Pregnancy Journey

In a new YouTube video titled “I’m Pregnant, My Journey So Far,” the mother-to-be opens up about the next chapter of her life by sharing the story of how she found out she was expecting and noting all the cravings and mood swings that she has experienced so far.

“I am happy to announce that I am 11 weeks pregnant. Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January of 2025. We’re both very excited,” she said before admitting, “This was not planned at all. It was completely unexpected, but we’re both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood.”

She also addresses the opinions of her followers who question whether or not she is ready to become a mother of her own after the tragic events that took place throughout her childhood.

“I don’t anybody who said ‘okay, I’m ready. I’m doing this’…I feel a shift in myself. When I found out I was pregnant, nothing else mattered…All of that drama just all faded. It didn’t matter anymore. All that matters is making sure I’m healthy, the baby is healthy, my relationship with Ken is healthy and we are moving forward in a positive way.”

Blanchard then became visibly emotional at the thought of being able to provide her child with “all the things I wished I could have had when I was little.”

“All the things I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby,” she added.

Fans can continue to follow her pregnancy journey on her various social media accounts.
