Kane Brown will soon make history at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).

The country superstar will become the first male country artist to ever perform on the MTV VMAs.

Live from the Toyota stage, Brown is set to deliver the television debut of his latest single “Grand,” from his highly-anticipated third studio album, Different Man.

The performance will not only mark the live TV debut of the tune but also his first time ever performing on the VMAs.

The 2022 MTV VMAs are set to air live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Aug. 28.

The VMAs will also feature performances from Anitta, J Balvin, Marshmello x Khalid and Panic! At The Disco. Global superstar Nicki Minaj will also perform live for the first time since 2018 and receive the prestigious Video Vanguard Award.

Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar, and Lil Nas lead with seven nominations each. Doja Cat and Harry Styles follow behind with six nods while Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd closely follow with five nominations each. See the full list of nominations HERE.

Brown previously made VMAs history when he was the only country artist to receive a 2021 nomination in the category of Video for Good for his single “Worldwide Beautiful.”

Arriving on September 9, Different Man will feature 17 tracks, including his latest single “Like I Love Country Music,” “One Mississippi,” “Whiskey Sour,” “Leave You Alone,” and “Grand.” The project also features duets with Blake Shelton and his wife Katelyn Brown.

Different Man follows Brown’s second studio album, 2018’s Experiment. In August of 2020, Brown released his ACM-nominated EP, Mixtape Vol. 1, which included several hit singles such as “Cool Again,” “Worldwide Beautiful” “Worship You” and his Top 40 radio single, “Be Like That” featuring Khalid and Swae Lee.

Later this year, Brown will embark on a massive international tour, dubbed the Drunk or Dreaming Tour.

The trek will feature special guests Restless Road, Jessie James Decker, Blanco Brown and Chris Lane on select dates. Kicking off on September 17 in Melbourne, Australia, the tour will continue through Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, and Europe.

The Drunk or Dreaming Tour marks Brown’s first time touring in Australia and New Zealand, and his long-awaited return to Canada and Europe.
